Denim shorts for size 16

I never wear shorts but I'm going away and I've got some tops I think could look nice with denim shorts. I don't want anything tight. I'm a size 16, big bum and big thighs. These are the only ones I've seen so far that I think might be okay? Any suggestions on where I could get some from? I'm not dead set on denim either.

I am a size 16 and I happily wear shorts but I think that the really baggy ones aren't especially flattering. I think you need to get something more fitted/tailored but not tight. Too long ones aren't great either
I have some nice denim ones from Hush and I also wear some linen ones from The White Co. , Boden chino ones are pretty good too

It's worth looking for Roman or Next, they can be flattering.

Roman have some nice ones . I’d get a straighter cut than the ones you’ve shown as they would just accentuate a big bum / thighs .

I find a loose cropped , wife legged trouser cooler and more flattering. Could see if you can find them in a denim chambray . If it’s hot enough for shorts, it’s too hot for denim

I'm a size 18. The pic of those shorts look shapeless and not flattering at all! On me, I find a 3/4 length capri style in a cool material like linen or cotton, far more flattering that short, shorts. It elongates the leg, stops at a thinner part of the leg and are just as cool in hot weather.

You're all right, the more I look at those shorts the more ugly and unflattering they get 😂
I just don't have a clue as never wear them!

I'm a 14 and my best denim ones are from Levi's. I don't like those in the OP, sorry. I think mine are the 'Originals' ones, but they've got a few different styles.

I also had a boyfriend pair from M & S this year, they were good - my all time favourite shirts though are magic shorts, same as magic trousers but the shorts version, super stretchy, side pockets, pull on, they just don't come in denim, I've got white, navy, stone and black.

I'm a 16 and happily wear denim shorts. Fairly fitted are far more flattering than wide ones.

I agree with a pp, if it's hot enough for shorts it's too hot for denim. Linen would be much cooler. I never wear shorts as I actually find skirts better on hot days.

I'm a 16 and I've had some good denim shorts from Asda. You could also try m&s. Lucy and yak do baggy style shorts in fun prints if that's your sort of thing too OP.

I buy shorts from Yours but in printed fabrics that are a bit longer than the ones in the picture.
