Hair changing direction!

I have thick hair but recently, like on the past six months, it’s started to “flow” backwards off my forehead rather than downwards like it always has…imagine Neil from the Young ones turning into Michael Heseltine …SEE PHOTOS BELOW if you’re too young to know who these people are 👀

it’s not thinning although I wonder if it’s receding slightly…. I am in my 50s but don’t really want a bouffant 80s lions mane, I quite liked having hair I could actually style. And I was thinking about getting a fringe cut in but that’s a no for the moment.

Has this happened to anybody else? All I can think of is ageing although I’m still regular as clockwork periodwise and my hair hasn’t any greys yet so I doubt my hormones are plummeting yet. I did ask my hairdresser but he thinks I’m being neurotic. It’s not hanging right and I’m all shades of sad about it. Any advice?

I’m old Enough to appreciate both of those references 😂

I find if I don’t sort of train it forward while it’s wet after a shower it drys up like that. Does that make sense?

do you absentmindedly running your hands/fingers back through your hair that can do the same thing.

is it maybe breaking at the front so it looks like that because there are more short bits at the front.
Tying your hair back too tight or too often.
brushing too hard or while it’s wet can break the hair.

you may be right in that it’s slightly receding but I think hairdresser would probably have noticed it.

No, no matter what I do it flies back off my forehead. I’m stumped….. I only tie my hair up when I’m at the gym and I’ve abandoned my habit of sunnies on top of my head cos I realised I looked like a poseur….
