Help with jeans

Need major help please. Aged 43 size 18 and 5ft 5. Always worn bootcut jeans but know they went out of fashion years ago. Totally lost with what other style to wear. Bought a few now to try on and they look stupid on me. Like the look of the wide fit but on me they look like clown pants.
I wear jeans everyday. Anyone a similar size got any recommendations at all please? want to stop looking so frumpy. I like the look of smarter trousers with trainers but again struggle to find any for my size and shape.

I thought boot cut had come back in?

I've just got some from M&S and also Tu. Both are fairly similar I find except Tu are cheaper. I prefer a straight leg, high rise. Can be dressed up or down. I'm about the same height as you and a 16.

Size 16 (on a good day) I swear by M&S Sienna. They are designed for women with bums and thighs.

I've worn bootcut for years. They still make and sell them, and I wear what I like, not what is supposedly in fashion. I've tried wide leg and they don't suit me either.

I would second this.
