I’m over-thinking this but cannot find what I’m after so hoping someone can post some links. Straight, wide, slim, tapered, don’t know but basically a modern day trackie bottoms that are okay to wear to the local shop, probably black but my 18 yr old says no side stripe (was looking at White Co, Baukjen, Marks, H&M). Don’t want a full sportswear look, something I can wear with a nice jumper, sweatshirt would be good. Any other places to look please and what leg style (I’m a slim although aging size 8/10)?

Thanks

I liked these so much I bought them in three colours. They look MUCH nicer on in real life than on the model weirdly! So many compliments. Good for slobbing at home but also can dress up a bit with a sweatshirt over something with a collar, some gold jewellery, cool trainers. The barrel leg makes them much more interesting.

A lot sold out but might come back into stock.

Prinark are really worth a look.

TheGirlattheBack · 28/12/2024 19:50

I have these Joggers which your daughter should approve of …. My DD (17) actually said “are those new, they’re nice” 😅

UpMyself · 28/12/2024 19:53

Try the shops - Primark for cheap, M&S for better quality. Tu, matalan, new look etc might be worth a try.
If your budget is more, Robell is good for trousers that don't look like loungewear but are comfortable, but the styling on the site looks a bit like they're for older people. They're fine but I only knew of them cos DM thinks they're fab.

CookieMonster28 · 28/12/2024 20:27

I got a couple of nice sets from Tesco recently

thenewaveragebear1983 · 28/12/2024 20:36

I just bought some gorgeous grey cord joggers in the hush sale, they are more like a very thick ribbed velour than a true corduroy. They fit really well and are generously sized.

fivebyfivebuffy · 28/12/2024 21:24

I have these, they're not high fashion but they're soft, comfortable and wash well
Not particularly thick, more a lightweight jersey

I've seen lots on BrandAlley today

Ooh I like the look of these what are the sizes like? I'm a 14/16 in trousers so would I go for a large?

corianderpomander · 28/12/2024 21:40

Meandem have loads, they are pricey so not sure what budget you're looking at but good for styling ideas.

Unexpectedlysinglemum · 28/12/2024 21:53

I got some nice black cotton ones from m and s and they have bobbled so quickly within a month!

I love these though https://www.marksandspencer.com/velour-pyjama-set/p/clp23012970?intid=mobileappppdpshare

TheGirlattheBack · 28/12/2024 21:58

@Bey i think they are true to size. I bought the petite version in small - I’m a size 8.

CountFucula · 28/12/2024 22:44

I love the marks and Spencer scuba style - they look expensive

TianasBayou · 28/12/2024 22:57

Look at M&S ponte wide leg cargo trousers.

Crowdedhouseagain · 29/12/2024 00:01

Oh wow, thank you for all the suggestions. There are a few very definite possibilities including Stradivarius, the Marks Scuba pair and also saw a wide legged pair on their website and Next look to have a few possibilities. Have stumbled across [[https://www.reiss.com/style/su422710/ab2422#ab2422 www.reiss.com/style/su422710/ab2422#ab2422]]]] but they are way way more than I would spend - I think they’re what I see in my mind’s eye but some of your suggestions aren’t too far off.

Suzy D Ultimate joggers. I live in them. Have loads of colours. I have bought from different outlets as they're not cheap but have had four or five pairs from Vinted and other outlets. Just so comfy and flattering.

Chocolatey1234 · 29/12/2024 01:00

Not the cheapest but these are divine to wear buttery soft and so comfortable. They also wash and wear really well, hold shape really well, are true to size, require no ironing and come in different widths and different inside leg measurements. www.ninepine.uk/

I have these too and wear them almost every day for WFH. I have a couple of pairs. Extremely comfortable.

These wash well and are comfortable.

I have these that I wear to local shop. Very comfy, loose fitting on legs but tighter on waist and ankles so they stay on. https://www.johnlewis.com/john-lewis-anyday-soft-joggers/black/p111474083

sunshinyday12 · 29/12/2024 07:34

Have a look at Hush Alexa Hareem Trousers. They are a dream to wear. Not straight legged as hareem style but I def wear down to shops etc.

dudsville · 29/12/2024 07:38

For this kind of thing I go to COS, and I have the ones @petedicks posted, comfy and cute.

IWantToBeADCC · 29/12/2024 07:41

Sweaty Betty have some lovely wide legged trousers at the moment, I’ve got my birthday half price voucher to use so I’ll probably use it on a pair.
