Stylish boots for cold Euro citybreak?

Would love recommendations please for comfortable ankle boots I can wear for a northern European citybreak in a few weeks time. Probably black, stylish and able to be worn with wide leg trousers or jeans while walking around cold streets for hours, but also ideally work inside/evenings. Even better if they don’t look awful with a dress or skirt. And bonus points if on a sale somewhere.
Am I asking for the moon on a stick?!
I was on another citybreak a few weeks ago and wore more fashiony clumpy ankle boots intending them to work for both day and evening, they rubbed painfully at toes and heel and I ended up buying emergency trainers halfway through. As this next break looms closer I’m just realising I need to be better prepared. Good boot socks that don’t fall down also on the wish list.
thanks in advance.

I already have those Fly Salvs too. And I'm enjoying the love for them on here. However while I like them, weirdly to me the more rounded toe doesn't work with wide leg trousers on me. No idea why!

@LadyGreySpillsTheTea that is very useful info thank you. The fleecy insole is a great idea, I have some ready to slot into whatever I end up with. I'll check out deichmann's offerings.

By the way for those looking for @Hskatkat's original recommendation on the post, the link is visible on the web version of the post, but weirdly not on the app version

Let me see if this link works...

@NeitherStylishnorBeautiful you can buy sheepskin liners quite cheaply .
(I wear my neoprene wellies, far more than I should , plain black warm and waterproof!)

Bridgedale for socks. https://www.bridgedale.com/ Comfy and warm.

I just ordered a pair. They look great for the price @Hskatkat

@menopausalfart There are lovely but I couldn't keep mine, due my surgery. I just couldn't get my ankles to move in the 'right' way.
They would have gone with so many things.

menopausalfart · 05/01/2025 20:01

Oh, that's such a shame.

Hskatkat · 05/01/2025 20:06

I know I'm genuinely struggling to find any , I've tried loads two lots of surgery both legs slightly differently positioned. But hopefully I'll be able to get back to walking properly this year ( just in shit shoes!)
