How do I wear these?

Excuse my ignorance but I was gifted a lovely pair of earrings that I’ve no idea how to wear! Does the long dangly bit thread the whole way through my ear piercing?

How do I wear these?

Yep, post the straight bit and chain through your hole in you ear then the hook should sit in you ear , it's just a extra detail so the earrings piece sits at the front ( circle) hook in your ear chain down behind your ear

Watching with interest!

They’re lovely looking earrings - but I’ve had pierced ears for 45 years and have never considered pulling a chain through the piercings. Slightly scared at the thought of it.

Hskatkat · 26/12/2024 21:35

It feels 'odd' for a second! A friend make gorgeous jewelry & has made similar styles .

The thought of pulling chain through your piercing has just given my whole body a little yippy quiver..

Don't like it... 🤣

But the earrings are cute.

Those earrings are gorgeous. They will look amazing on.

CheerfulBunny · 26/12/2024 22:20

The pull through does feel a bit funny but it's not painful. If you have two sets of piercings in your lobe (as I do) you can loop the long end through the second hole and let the chain drape IYSWIM.

Nope nope nope

I didn't read that nope.

Fingers in my eyes and lalalalal..

(I'm gonna have to get some and try it, just reading about it makes me jiggly 🤣)

Do these style have a name particularly? I've not seen the like before.

Carrie76 · 26/12/2024 22:49

I love the earrings but not sure I can do that!! I wear earring every rarely will they definitely go through the hole?? I’m a bit freaked out by it I have to say

You could take them to a working jeweler who could remove the chain and make the hook tip smooth

TheChosenTwo · 26/12/2024 22:52

It sounds like an infection waiting to happen somehow!
pretty earrings though 😂

Hskatkat · 26/12/2024 22:53

Or you could try putting a drop of oil, lip balm, vaseline, lube to help smooth them going through .

They're usually called threader earrings. They don't always have the hook element. Sometimes just the chain.

Thanks. I've been googling.

I'm very tempted. The idea of threading them is weird, but I wanna try it..
Plus, earrings.. I bought some hoops for £10 about 5 years ago and haven't bothered since. Just give em a clean now and then and put them back in..

Carrie76 · 27/12/2024 18:52

Update, I got them on. Taking them out was very weird!

You’re very brave! Grin

But they’re so pretty. (Where are they from, do you know?)

They look fabulous 🤩 🤩

mdinbc · 27/12/2024 19:04

They look very nice! I'm reminded of chain earrings I had back in the 90's that were just two little bars (posts) and a chain in between. They weren't as long, but they did look elegant. I don't know whatever happened to them!

hby9628 · 27/12/2024 22:05

Yes , I have a pair of those ( I can wear in my double lobe )
And there were the stud and cuff that you pinched round your outer ear , chain to connect

Namechange48432 · 31/12/2024 22:19

I love these earrings. Any idea where they are from? My searches have been fruitless.
