Eye make up with terrible eyesight

I’ve had to stop doing eye makeup over the past year as my vision has got worse and it’s too blurry to see what I’m doing. Does anyone have any tips? I bought a stamp hoping it would help me do an eye flick, but I just can’t see where to put it, or eyeshadow etc.

would a magnifying mirror help? Or some sort of light?

I use a magnifying mirror with lights on it and it helps a lot but I still have one eye that is more difficult to do than the other.

Google 'makeup glasses'

I don't think I'd even attempt an eye flick or any kind of precision eye make up.
I just do eye shadow on my lid and abit of eyeliner underneath, it's hard to mess that up!
Although I often put my glasses back on and think 'what do you look like!?'😅

I kind of work on muscle memory! Can do smudgey eyeliner and mascara that way.

I have a magnifying mirror that sticks to my bathroom mirror. Makes eye makeup so much easier.

I use a 10x magnifying mirror and also have a small one, from Boots, that sticks on to another mirror, for travelling. I've also found that the cream pencils eg Bobbi Brown, VB are better than using powder eye shadow.

I’m -9.50 in both eyes with astigmatism (and can’t wear contacts due to autoimmune issues). I just remove my glasses and stand within an inch of the bathroom mirror. I do eyeliner etc. I used to be a make up consultant for Clinique and then Chanel. I just got used to doing it super close up.

I have appalling eyesight and eye liner is a bit of a pain. I cannot wear make up glasses, they get in the way!!! However I muddle through! I try to 'feel' where the line should be and also do tightlining.

I do mine with a handheld mirror.

Eyeshadow sticks!! I have Laura Mercier ones - amethyst which is my go to and a couple of others. I have bad eye sight and a tremor in my hand so these are a life saver . Scribble it on and smudge with fingers

Magnifying mirror would be the obvious solution?

Waterboatlass · 23/12/2024 16:42

Magnifying mirror with lighting plus cream to powder eyeshadow? It's also more popular at the minute to have much simpler eye makeup than the cut creases and what have you of recent years. You could also have your brows shaped and tinted plus lashes tinted which minimises work. There are options like false lashes and semi permanent brows or even liner
