Hate tights and stockings!! Advice please 🙏

I’m wondering if I can get away with wearing black over-knee socks under midi length skirts - any suggestions? They’d need to be thin but secure enough not to fall down! Am looking online but so far not confident enough to buy anything and I’m up against it time-wise now…

Have you tried hold ups, or were you on old fashioned stockings? Hold ups are my go to.

Or for tights, we've discovered snipping a small part of the waistband miraculously doesn't seem to cause them to unravel and does stop the waist slicing you in two.

Over the knee socks may be viable but I don't have any recommendations I'm afraid.

@Ineffable23 I’ve never got on with hold-ups or tights - they don’t cut into me but there’s something about the fabric that just irritates and I hate my upper thighs being covered. In the past I’ve worn knee-high pop socks but they’re less than ideal cos every time you sit down you have to make sure your knees aren’t showing! 😂

Depending on the outfit of course I wear my knee boots with shorter skirts and dresses and my full length Spanx under longer skirts and trousers.
