New thread as we enter the final week before Christmas.

Previous thread is here:
www.mumsnet.com/talk/style_and_beauty/5220847-general-waifs-and-strays-beauty-advent-calendar-opening-thread-2024?page=1

This is a continuation of the thread for those opening Beauty Advent Calendars not covered by specific calendar opening threads (though also happy for contents of those to be shared here too).

As usual, many of us would really appreciate it if spoilers are not posted before 7am on the relevant day. Please also avoid dropping hints or spoilers about future contents if you have opened the calendar in advance.

Posting pictures of contents is also always much appreciated.

Day 25 Jo Malone - Orange Bitters cologne 30ml.

I opened this yesterday and gave it a quick test - gorgeous! I can't wait to try it out properly.

@AprilLady - thanks for hosting the threads.

Harrods was pretty good and enough high value stuff of interest to justify. Curation choices could have been more interesting.

I need an S&B buying break now!

Merry Christmas everyone. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and photos x

Day 25 of the Lookfantastic calendar was the Anastasia Beverly Hills soft glam eyeshadow palette. These are all really wearable shades and I wil get a lot of use out of it. The ASOS was a Charlotte Tilbury highlighter that I am very excited to try.

Thankyou to everyone for such an enjoyable thread. Happy Christmas to you all!

I used the Rodial Blush Drops today - think from the Harrods AC. I bought the full size drops with a mini Rodial highlighter. How are you using it? Pipetting it straight on to your cheeks or fingertips? It’s great, it looks densely pigmented but the formula goes on as a gloss, makes cheeks look juicy and dewy. The highlighter is potential Holy Grail status - it makes your skin look luminous and not like a product is sitting on top of that makes sense. Has anyone else used these two, what do you think?

Have just bought the wellness box from m+s- time to unwind for £30. Absolutely loved it, but did not need to buy it!

I've realised I forgot to photograph and post my final Treatbox gift, which was a hot chocolate melt stick on the 24th.
Since a lot of people on the thread were interested in this one, I thought I'd write a summary of it.

I paid £120, which was full price (there was the option to pay 50% deposit), and it had free delivery. I placed the order mid-August. From memory (but not 100% sure now), there was a closing date for orders close to when I placed my order. It was delivered mid October.

I purchased on a whim after seeing a lot of sponsored ads on social media. I have very sensitive skin and only use a small number of specific toiletries, so the beauty advent calendars are no good for me. Similarly, I'm not into wine/gin/cheese/tea/etc enough to want a whole month of the same.

The gifts were not in the classic advent calendar presentation, but were individually wrapped in a box. All really nicely wrapped - different papers, some with ribbon, etc. All numbered. I was careful not to handle or even look too much because I didn't want to guess what they were before opening.

For the price, I worked out it was an average of £5 per gift, less when you factor wrapping, delivery, working time. A small few gifts were probably less than £5, but most I would guess cost a bit more, so overall I think excellent value for money.

Five of the gifts were just not for me - nothing wrong with them - just personal preference. I gave them to a friend who was very happy to receive them. The rest of the gifts I loved and used, mostly things I wouldn't have bought for myself, so that's the bonus - they were treats.

Would I buy again? Yes, absolutely, I really enjoyed it. As well as the 24-day, they also offer a 12-day advent calendar for the same price, but with higher-value gifts. I'm torn between one or the other for next year.

For those who are interested, they also do various other themed gift and subscription boxes. Not sure I'd want gifts all through the year but I am tempted to get myself a birthday gift!

A recap of what I got:
1 winter theme socks; 2 pack of three festive scented probiotic vitamin C face masks; 3 glass tealight candle holder; 4 mint black tea moisture balm stick; 5 pressed flower keyring; 6 mango and coconut body scrub; 7 reindeer hanging decoration; 8 a necklace with a little gold heart and a small leather travel pouch; 9 christmas mug; 10 yule log flavour popcorn; 11 festive socks; 12 bath bomb; 13 set of notebooks; 14 body cream; 15 pin badges; 16 ceramic heart hanging decoration; 17 daily planner notepad; 18 prosecco flavour sweets; 19 lavender cedarwood room mist and pulse balm; 20 ceramic bunting; 21 chocolate; 22 multi-use balm; 23 self-heating eye-mask; 24 hot chocolate
