What's the nearest product to this conditioner? (Or is it possible to buy a full bottle?)

I use Clairol Nice n Easy hair colour now and then to cover stray greys. The little tube of conditioner that comes with it is amazing - the best one I've ever found. It leaves my hair silky soft. Does anyone know if it's possible to buy a full size bottle of it? Or if not, if there's a similar product? Other conditioners don't come near it and tend to leave my hair a bit frizzy or lifeless.

It's definitely the little tube of conditioner that leaves my hair so nice, not the actual colour solution; I've tested it out by saving a tube and using it after a normal hair wash and it's just as brilliant. Surely there must be a way to get my hands on it without needing to buy a whole box of colour solution just to get a teeny tube of conditioner?

Bump.

There’s some suggestions on this thread, but also comments that it’s the high silicone content, which isn’t great.

I love that conditioner! Sadly I don't have just a few stray greys 😁 I used to be able to buy the tubes of conditoner in Superdrug but haven't seen them for years. I looked on Ebay and there are some for sale but price is rather high compared to the actual hair dye so haven't indulged yet. It really is the best isn't it?

lolly792 · 15/12/2024 10:46

@landoflostcontent it rang a bell with me that the tubes used to be sold in Superdrug but I haven't seen them for years. I thought silicones made the hair quite limp and dull, whereas this conditioner does the opposite with my hair.

Ooh I could have written this myself op! I did my roots on Friday and my hair just feels amazing. My hair is naturally frizzy and I know when I wash it tonight that it won't feel as nice afterwards so I'd love to find a conditioner that makes my hair feel so soft and smooth all the time!

Lostsadandconfused · 15/12/2024 11:22

I know, the Clairol stuff is the bomb. I don’t know why they don’t sell it separately, it would be a best seller.

Lollypop701 · 15/12/2024 11:31

Living proof weightless mask is amazing

ForPearlViper · 15/12/2024 11:47

I had a conversation with my hairdresser about silicones as I'd read about them not being good for your hair but they were the only thing that beat my fluffy frizzy hair into submission.

Her view was that, like most things, one size does not fit all. Some people's hair doesn't react well to silicones but for other people it is the best ingredient for keeping their hair smooth. You just need to use a clarifying shampoo every so often to avoid build up.

Try looking at the ingredients, OP, and see what the main ones are and then check that out on some other conditioner brands.

Lostsadandconfused · 15/12/2024 12:09

I agree, silicone is not always the bad guy. It has a purpose If used in the right way, same with sulphates. My hair hates sulphate free shampoo.

VerityUnreasonble · 15/12/2024 12:27

You could try L'Oréal glycolic gloss or bond repair. They are likely to be quite similar. Or Tigi fully loaded volumising jelly. They are all very silicone based though so you probably want to use a clarifying shampoo now and then too.

LuxuryWoman2020 · 15/12/2024 17:55

They used to sell it separately but discontinued it, I bought loads reduced to 10p each!

I've never found anything close to it unfortunately.

polkadotchristmas · 15/12/2024 18:06

I think you can buy the conditioner on its own from esalon. Not "quite" as good but a close second to the stuff you get with the actual colour

Laiste · 15/12/2024 19:40

Ebay - but for £3 or £4 each.

Bit cheaper than buying a whole box dye for the cond.

BlueFlagPinkFlag · 15/12/2024 22:36

I use the Superdrug Argan Oil Hair Mask most days, it is lovely!

mrsfollowill · 15/12/2024 22:46

Go to Amazon and search Clairol Professional Colour Studio - it's on offer at £5.20 for a large bottle - I've been using the same bottle since August and it's the dogs- exactly the same stuff I'm sure I have stopped using the dye (nothing against it - using my hairdressers colours at the mo to try and go grey gracefully)
Hair has never been in better condition - it's excellent stuff.

Blondeshavemorefun · 15/12/2024 23:13

I use live now for hair

But I find this conditioner is amazing

Usually buy in bulk off Amazon but out of stock

It makes my hair so glossy and smooth

What's the nearest product to this conditioner? (Or is it possible to buy a full bottle?)

LOVE this conditioner!

Argh I never use this conditioner when I do my roots as I find it too heavy for my fine hair.
So I recently dropped about 10 off at my local charity shop where they sell them for 20p each. Never knew I could sell them on eBay for so much!
