Mums that have 'help' such as a cleaner meal prep done...

What do you do during your spare time to look after and maintain yourself?

Is there anything in particular that you do that makes you feel good? Spas / lunches etc

OP posts:
Zone2NorthLondon · 14/12/2024 21:13

Genuine Question, can you not independently figure out self care and leisure for the affluent
Why does it matter what the other housewives do? Do you need to benchmark and keep up
Study? Volunteer? Do something not related to spa or luncheon

henlake7 · 14/12/2024 21:20

Well, I have to do all my own cleaning and meal prep and still manage to have lunch every day as well.
Guess I'm just built different!😂

Keepitsimple1 · 14/12/2024 21:52

We have a house keeper, nanny, personal assistant.

More time for and head space for:

Weekly spa day, personal training, private yoga sessions, massage. Mani and pedi every two weeks.

Regular skin treatments. Laser, Botox ect.

Hair professionally blow dried and styled once/twice a week.

Access to private health care and consultants. Nutritionist, physio ect. Therapy!!!

Lot’s of sleep. Good quality bedding. Long showers and baths.

A wide variety of good quality food. No alcohol to keep skin nice and shiny. Only decaf coffee.

Nice brunches and lunches with lovely food and great friends. Holidays with self-care as an element, spa, sports, good quality dining.

Use very good quality face products and cosmetics. Routines - icing face in mornings, red light therapy in the evening.

Buying and maintaining clothes to always look put together. Tailoring. Little luxuries - good quality socks and nightwear.

Making myself and my home smell nice.

Having time for the details in life, organising parties, furnishing the house, writing thank you notes, sorting children’s school related activities. Seeing and hosting family at home. The small things make me happy.

It's just something I would like to create in my life as I enjoy those type of things.

Just intrigued to see how other mums do it and how I can structure my own routine and look after myself

Sounds great and very thorough.

Thanks for sharing this. It does help with what else I can add to look after myself better. Especially with excercise and diet! I defo have a sugar problem

Will try decaf coffee too.

I'm sure you feel amazing inside/ out following the above

Can you genuinely not figure out your own self care and wellbeing. Get googling. Stroll down your prosperous Main Street
You are benchmarking if you need to reference what other affluent women do.
Do your own thing, be innovative,if you have your disposable income to shed
Lets face it Hampstead,Highgate full of affluent sheepy women, do you want to be another?

Keepitsimple1 · 14/12/2024 22:10

I have a bit problem with sugar too! Sometimes justify it in my mind that if I don’t drink alcohol then I can have a sugar vice. Thinking about using an app like my fitness pal or a Zoe type thing to get back on track.

Herbal teas are a nice alternative to coffee.

I haven’t always felt great- that’s why I prioritise self care. It’s really important especially after children.

calmandcollected101 · 14/12/2024 22:12

It won't let me quote, I'm new to MN

ZoneNorthtoLondon

I'm a 28 single mum to a toddler, I run a therapy practice with 80+ staff, it's stabilised and now I just want to see how I can balance my time , look after myself without running myself to the ground. Not quite a privileged SAHM/ wife in Highgate

Dad helps but I have more freedom without having a man to look after too 😁

My response remain the same, figure what suit you, why do you need to know what other affluent women do?
you're a therapist - use your reflection skills. Mindfulness, exercise. Make a list of goals, priorities and how’ll you’ll achieve them

These type of responses are really irritating. Mumsnet is a talk forum for engaging with others and is constantly used for advice/ideas/thoughts, it would be closed down if everyone figured things out independently. I'm sure the OP could have just googled instead, but sometimes it's nice to have a bit on an interaction.

We are sharing ideas and experiences with each other. Being friendly to others is a good thing to do.

Radishknot · 14/12/2024 22:30

What do you like to do? I’m not a fan of having my nails done so only do it rarely but love a massage and facial.

Zone2NorthLondon · 14/12/2024 22:33

Look.no one can accurately advise op how to be happy, fulfilled without some notion what op likes, wants. Her posts give no indication of preference
The angle seems to be asking other affluent women what they spend money on

She didn't ask anyone on how she can be happy or fulfilled, she asked what others do to make them feel good. I don't know why this has annoyed you. Look up the other 30 million threads where people have asked stuffed that they could have reflected on themselves, it might be a real shocker.

Keepitsimple1 · 14/12/2024 22:41

And so what if it was!?

Lots of conversations on here are about resources, food, spending/saving money, life style ect, across a broad spectrum of different people with different views and circumstances.

Tolerance of others is a good value to have.

Zone2NorthLondon · 14/12/2024 22:43

Annoyed? Not at all
Quizzical? Certainly.
Lets see if op elaborates on her preferences that’ll be more illuminating than what do other affluent women do with their money

Peasnbeans · 14/12/2024 22:45

I'm hoping your user name is ironic.
Statistics would suggest 2% of mums identify with you.

I had a nanny when son was young. Always had a cleaner, also have a gardener. Each to their own but most of the stuff you mention is stuff I wouldn't spend ( to be honest waste) any time on.

Access to private health care and consultants. Nutritionist, physio ect. Therapy!!!

I have access to private health care. I don't need to use it to work out a nutriontional diet.

calmandcollected101 · 14/12/2024 22:46

It was just a generic question I asked, in no way was I expecting anyone to have answers on what will make me happy.

As other posters have said, it's a forum.
We discuss and share ideas.

Thank you other posters for your ideas, sounds fabulous!
Also thank you for explaining to the NLondon poster 🫠😃

I always have my nails done

Recently tried the hydrafacial, that was very nice.

Massages are a nice treat. But now trying to get into more skincare such as VitC
Tried the Skinceuticals which was lovely!

However I found the Snail Muercin (can't spell it) face mask from the Korean store in Westfield was very effective with moisture/ shiny skin

Also Glutathione to manage pigmentation

Trying to drink more water eat less processed food, cut out sugar as it really does 'swell me up' and look much fatter 😵‍💫

I used to eat so much sugar- huge bars of dairy milk etc every night. This test / service was amazing.

it says sold out but you can waitlist and I think I saw on their socials that they will have more for Jan.
