Mums that have 'help' such as a cleaner meal prep done...

What do you do during your spare time to look after and maintain yourself?

Is there anything in particular that you do that makes you feel good? Spas / lunches etc

Oh and if you hand around anywhere nowadays where affluent women are - there are hardly any overweight ones - hello weight loss jabs!

excelledyourself · 15/12/2024 18:29

@Zone2NorthLondon

Instead she wrote a braggy post about having staff and wanting to know what other ladies of leisure spend money in.

No. You assumed she was a housewife. So she gave you context.

Zone2NorthLondon · 15/12/2024 18:57

A reasonable assumption. The ladies of leisure thread title doesn’t suggest a working woman. Nothing in op suggested business owner. The ladies of leisure strap line suggested she is was a leisurely lady. The op was a post asking other affluent women with help about spas and lunches (one doesn’t usually see businesswoman asking for spa and or luncheon advice). The tone of the original post is very much affluent housewife. So, yes, reasonable question

It's not the jabs. Rich women have always been mostly skinny.

Yes, I read it, thank you. I still didn't automatically assume she was a housewife.

Your thread has taken a detour @calmandcollected101 but to get back to your original question…

I use the Dr Dennis Gross Vitamin C serum and moisturiser. It gives VERY glowy skin, especially if you use their LED mask in the evening.

We have a house keeper, nanny, personal assistant.

More time for and head space for:

Weekly spa day, personal training, private yoga sessions, massage. Mani and pedi every two weeks.

Regular skin treatments. Laser, Botox ect.

Hair professionally blow dried and styled once/twice a week.

Access to private health care and consultants. Nutritionist, physio ect. Therapy!!!

Lot’s of sleep. Good quality bedding. Long showers and baths.

A wide variety of good quality food. No alcohol to keep skin nice and shiny. Only decaf coffee.

Nice brunches and lunches with lovely food and great friends. Holidays with self-care as an element, spa, sports, good quality dining.

Use very good quality face products and cosmetics. Routines - icing face in mornings, red light therapy in the evening.

Buying and maintaining clothes to always look put together. Tailoring. Little luxuries - good quality socks and nightwear.

Making myself and my home smell nice.

Having time for the details in life, organising parties, furnishing the house, writing thank you notes, sorting children’s school related activities. Seeing and hosting family at home. The small things make me happy.

But when do you fit in sailing, riding, badminton, cycling and tennis? With all that titivating how do you have time for enjoying yourself?

Once I've mucked out 3 horses, ridden 2, broken a couple of nails, cycled to the tennis club, played 6 sets, I'm on my knees . . .

And?
I am not going to retract my post. Lady of leisure ,spa and lunch is not usually indicative of business owner

I don’t play any of those sports! You’ve made assumptions about me. I’m not lacking in self awareness, I have confidence and pride in who I am because I’ve worked hard for my life.

I grew up without any privileges or luxuries. Single parent family, on the breadline. I worked really really hard at my local state school and made a future for myself. It’s only recently paid off after 40 years of toil.

I choose to fit my self care around a full time career in finance, horrific commute and running my own start-up business.

I work really hard and choose to look after myself. I appreciate having a choice. I have no resentments or hard feeling towards others. 💜
