Washing a puffer jacket

I have several puffer jackets - all synthetic not down and wondered if the wash then dry in the tumble dryer with a tennis ball really works as previously when I washed one and let it dry naturally, the filling was clumpy and the jacket unwearable.

Yes it does- with a couple of tennis balls

Just check that the jackets are actually washable. I washed a Uniqlo coat in the machine and it was ruined as the stuffing formed hard balls.
