Casual comfortable trousers (not jeans)??

My wardrobe is lacking in trousers. I’m fed up with wearing jeans though I have a couple of nice pairs that I do wear. I have been mainly wearing thick leggings with long jumpers/fleeces but leggings are not that flattering in me now I’m almost 43. I have a few sensory issues so I ideally want something stretchy or partially stretchy around the waste band. I am also short so if they are wide leg they need to be in short/petite so they don’t drag in puddles.

Any recommendations or suggestions? My budget isn’t that big, ideally under £40.

M&S jersey wideleg trousers ae your friend. They're about £17 a pair.
I've got them in khaki and black.

These are lovely thick material and in your budget. www.myprotein.com/p/sports-clothing/mp-women-s-tempo-flared-leggings-black/14610050/

I'll second the M&S wide leg jersey trousers. High waisted, flattering heavy jersey that washes well. Soooo comfortable but look smart enough for work. I've a pair in every colour

OMG I know the answer to this, it's Lucy & Yak Billie corduroys! I have three pairs - thet're sooo comfy. Thy only do the Tall in black and (I think) blue. I'm 5ft7ish and the normal height are ok but not much left to roll up. The Tall ones are a good length, with plenty to roll up, but I think they make them a bit roomier around the backside so they're a bit more voluminous.
