With silver if it's hallmarked 925 it's sterling (best quality for silver) a lot of time you are paying extra for the brand name ( not for design) more than the actual piece as silver isn't really an expensive metal to buy and work with. Be aware of silver plate as it's not as long lasting there are several ways of describing plated jewelry.
