BackinBlack24 · 07/12/2024 08:30

Hi I'm currently using tretinoin prescribed by GP and I'm looking for a nice tinted SPF to wear during the day . SPF 50 not sure I can get anything higher than that here ? Something good for oily tzone would be great but not a huge deal

Bondi sands face has excellent protection but isn’t tinted. I add Erborian bb on top. I know it protects because, on a sunny day sitting in the garden chatting for an hour, my arms were burnt pink but my face didn’t show a change of colour at all.
I used to use Clinique super city block f40, which was excellent, but their new replacement which is f50 burnt my face pottering in the garden for an hour in September on a dull, overcast day! I’ve spent a couple of summers trying to find a decent replacement so interested to see the suggestions.

La Roche-Posay

Marsaala · 07/12/2024 10:54

I'm using this which is very lightly tinted, but enough for me. It goes on really easily and apparently is full of "goodness" for the skin. 100ml lasts me 6 - 8 months. It may not be tinted enough for some people. There is a company that sells small samples somewhere online.

Synergy 6 - NX-Gen moisturiser with SPF 50

Synergy 6 NX-Gen SPF 50 is a multitasking, hardworking skincare product that offers great moisturisation, skin barrier improvement as well as protection from heat, pollution, blue light radiation, and the sun. This moisturiser, with SPF 50, is great as...

Eucerin do a brilliant one - it goes on beautifully and gives fab “my skin but better” coverage, but also protects skin. I get hyperpigmentation but this keeps it away even on very hot, sunny days.

I tried the Eucerin one as a cheaper alternative to the one I recommended and it's one of the very few products I've ever had to dispose of. It pilled all over my face. Tried it several times. Other Eucerin products have worked okay for me.

Ooh, I’ve never had that with the Eucerin one although I have with other products. Strange!

luvaflatwhite · 07/12/2024 11:00

If sun protection is key then Eucerin sells a 100 SPF

La Roche-Posay

Came to say this. I wear it skiing too and it stands up to the mountain sun. Bonus points for it photographing well too!

Is the link not working for you? I've just tested it and it seems ok.

Georgie743 · 07/12/2024 11:25

I recently had a skin / mole check and asked the dermatologist what he recommends. He said absolutely La Roche Posay is way better than any other sunscreen, so I've stocked up on that. The facial one is lovely and light. I use normal moisturiser then the sunscreen on top.

UmberMoose · 07/12/2024 12:08

La roche posay is the one I use. So here goes my routine which you may try:
Morning:
Using water to wash your face,
Sebamed clear face gel,
Garnier spf
Evening:
Micellar water
La roche posay moisturizer,
Tretinoin (0.1) from skinorac
Sebamed clear facial gel

I have used this too and can recommend

poetryandwine · 11/12/2024 13:09

Another vote for La Roche Posay. Both of their tinted SPF 50 are excellent and, crucially, fine for my sensitive eyes.

The Bondi Sands tinted is also an excellent sunscreen, but it makes my eyes tear up

Me too! I got 2 tubes for £12 recently because the No 7 rep showed me how to get the best offer!

Supergoop golden hour gives you a glisten without overdoing it. I use it daily with a Monderma custom formula of 0.025% tretinoin and 2% hydroquinone.

Seriously what does this mean? Sounds like a prescription? I want to know.
