Can someone find me a replacement for these boots

I am so disappointed in these boots. We're on holiday up north and my own boots that I was wearing are freezing cold and needed an emergency warm boot

They are very comfortable and I have very very wide feet and they were cosy warm

I wore them from the shop, but later it started raining and I might as well have been wearing sandals, my feet were wet through squelching and soaked to the skin when we got in.

3 days later despite the heating being very warm in this place they are still wet inside, I wanted to wear them home today and now cant

For 70 quid I expect some degree of water protection even if they are not water proof as such, they shouldnt let water in to that degree in my view.

Im going to return them at home tomorrow, but I really like them, are there any similar, bit more reliable?

They looked really good as well I should say, really nice shape

Did you keep the tags that were on them? Reiker usually have a hanging tag saying for waterproof they are. That info doesn't seem to be online.

They are synthetic so I'm not sure if a waterproofing spray would help.

No he took the tags off in the shop as I wanted to wear them out of the shop

Im not saying I expected them to be 'waterproof' I know that they're not, but the amount of water ingress isnt proportionate to what is clearly a winter boot.

And because they're synthetic they cant breath so thats why they're still wet inside around the toes.

Have a look at Josef Seibel. They are supremely comfortable. I have a pair of Westland Peyton, and they've never let a drop of water in, even though they don't claim to be waterproof.

IME the fastest way to dry out waterlogged shoes is to stuff them tightly with newspaper. Change the newspaper every 24h.

Ive got some of their boots they are very good, although they're a bit big for me now as Ive lost weight and havent seen the style I like on there since, the Westland Payton are the replacement style for the ones I have I think

Im really annoyed about these boots and now wondering if I should take them back or not because I cant find anything that looks just like them

Considerably more expensive, but I have the Dr Marten's chelsea boots and I've worn them in wet weather and they've kept my feet warm and dry. I don't think they claim to be waterproof, though.

The trouble with DMs like that is tht they're too narrow for my feet, I do have some different style DMs, shoe style that seem ok but DM boots are too tight.

I thought you were going to show hiking boots it patent boots

I wouldn't expect patent fashion boots to necessarily hold up against the elements

Crispynoodle · 07/12/2024 23:04

I love fly London boots for warmth waterproofness and style but I usually get them from Vinted

Hi OP I have the same problem with wide feet and the only Docs that fit me are the 1460 smooth leather ones. So really the original style. Didn't need much breaking in and they are so comfy and so far not let any water in. They come in different colours too. Mine were £170 straight from a shop as I wanted to try some on but you can scour eBay and Vinted for cheaper ones xx
