Any tips on how to start doing your own acrylic nails? My daughter would love to learn. Looking for tips on what to buy etc

My tip would be for her to do a course in acrylic nails.

You need to be aware of nail anatomy, contraindications and possible infections and diseases to be able to carry this out safely.

I've seen people lose their natural nails permanently through "doing their own nails" without proper training.

Is this something a local college would run? As you can tell I have no idea about anything beauty related!

You could check out dip nails which is a popular alternative to acrylic; supposed to be less harmful to your nails.

I bought a kit from a company called Glamrdip and have just done my first set; I didn't add tips and just went with my natural length but you can use tips as well. A set with 6 colours and all the equipment was around £75.

They might, you would need to contact them or go on their website to find out.

Otherwise just google acrylic nail course + location you live in.

It's so important to be able to nails safely. There are also chemicals in artificial nails (more so gels) that people can develop a severe allergic reaction to, meaning that they can never have certain types of dental work, hip replacement when they are older etc. As it's the same substance.

These allergic reactions are usually caused by the gel not being cured properly which is down to lack of proper education and equipment.

Please make sure she does lots of research before embarking on this.
