What size speedys Louis Vuitton does everyone have , especially for day to day use ? School run and just days out in town etc
Also which print monogram or damier ebene? I’m leaning towards damier as I believe you can get that wet and don’t need to worry about rain etc ?

The price is a lot so I’m on the fence to buy one or not

It really depends on your personal needs, but for day-to-day use like school runs or outings in town, many people gravitate towards the Speedy 25 or Speedy 30. The Speedy 25 is a bit smaller, which works well for those who don’t need to carry too much but want a versatile, stylish bag. The Speedy 30 offers a little more space, which is great for those who might need extra room for things like snacks, a water bottle, or extra layers when heading out.
As for the print, Damier Ebene is an excellent choice for practicality. It’s more durable and resistant to rain compared to the classic monogram canvas, which can get affected by water spots over time. If you live in a place where it rains often or want something low maintenance, the Damier Ebene is definitely the way to go. Plus, it has a more understated look, so it can be easier to match with different outfits.
I totally understand the hesitation with the price, though! If you’re unsure, you might want to consider how often you’ll use it and whether it's something you can see yourself carrying regularly. It's an investment, but if you get a lot of use out of it, the cost per wear can really make it worth it.

I don't have one, I'm used to carring a canvas bag😂

GettingStuffed · 02/12/2024 07:48

Before you buy one be aware that the cost about £150, no I haven't left off a 0, to make.

Definitely looking at the damier ebene print, think 20 or 25 would be best does anyone have these sizes

I have the speedy 30 in the damier ebene. I personally wouldn’t go smaller, it’s an awkward shape to get things in and out at that size, I imagine smaller would be more fiddly. I haven’t worn mine in about a decade now (but I have for weekends away to put pjs and toiletries etc. in) I used to use it for work and found stuff really got lost in it, it’s more practical as a travel bag imo rather than every day one. If you wear it cross body it’s quite bulky and it’s a pain to carry by the handle. Are you going to see them in person?

Why is that relevant? Most things we all buy cost a tiny fraction of the purchase price to produce.

I'm the same as above, have the Speedy 30 in ebene, its pretty hardwearing, but i never use it these days as i find it a bit awkward to carry (i love the look of them when other people carry them though); i'd use it just going for drinks maybe, but not everyday.
I recommend the hobo styles they do - have the LV Graceful PM and its great to use and can wear on shoulder.

Bailey78 · 03/12/2024 15:14

Speedy 20 seems like the ideal size for me as I don’t carry too much definitely decided on damier ebene so don’t need to worry about rain

i really thought all the coated canvas bags were the same, whether LV print or ebene. I’ve got a few in LV print and have never had issues with rain, if you prefer that pattern I’d ask what the difference is when you buy?

Thanks I was told the monogram vachetta leather bits get watermarks etc if in rain where as the damier ebene is treated already or something so ok to go in the rain I’ll more than likely be caught in the rain at some point since it rains alot here. Price is £1620 so looking to see if any available pre loved

The leather on the damier ebene is coated which renders the bag practically indestructible.
I've a 30 , had it over ten years and it's in great condition. I use it all the time .
I do fill it though , I'd have to streamline my stuff if I had a 25.
I love mine , you won't regret a speedy . Audrey Hepburn had one !

Isitfridayyetsophie · 03/12/2024 19:29

@Bailey78 ah okay, with you, sorry I got confused thinking it was the actual canvas. The vachetta leather will get a patina but you’re right, it can look a bit grubby! Bag shopping is so exciting, hope you love it 💖
