Is there a mascara that doesn’t smudge?

I have tried so many, including tubing mascaras and waterproof mascaras, but all smudge. I typical find mascara just below my lower lash line, towards the outer corner. I don’t wear mascara on my bottom lashes and I never rub my eyes. I don’t know how the smudging happens! I’ve tried a lash serum, but it didn’t work. Does anyone have any mascara recommendations? Thanks.

I bc wear all types and never have smudges. Just now I’m wearing sky high by Maybelline but tend to go for anything that looks ok.

PeachPumpkin · 01/12/2024 19:37

Sky High is really good… but smudges on me.

I think I have oily eye lids. Maybe that’s my problem. I’ll check out the Estée Lauder.

Thank you both.

I have tried loads. Doublewear as mentioned above does not smudge - however it flakes off and irritates my eyes when I have lenses in. If I have glasses on I’m fine, and my lashes look great.
I'm using the Maybelline one - it doesn’t smudge very much so it’s my current favourite.
My problem is hooded lids and very oily skin, can’t fix either!
Sone eye creams and foundations make it worse so think about what else you are using on your face.

Idontjetwashthefucker · 01/12/2024 19:40

Double Wear for me too, my eyes constantly run and it never smudges

BashfulClam · 01/12/2024 19:42

Hmmm I also have hooded, oily lids and never find smudges. It’s so weird how everyone is different.

frockandcrocs · 01/12/2024 19:43

L'Oreal Panorama is the only one I've found from Boots/Superdrug etc, I also get a random Korean one from Amazon (that comes in a silver tube with a weird metal stick rather than a brush).

Spink86 · 01/12/2024 19:44

Eyeko beach mascara. That stuff DOES NOT BUDGE. I ended up having to buy a special eye makeup remover just because of it!

Neveragain35 · 01/12/2024 19:45

I wear contacts and tend to get very watery eyes- I’ve tried a lot and find Boots No 7 Stay Perfect is by far the best one for me- it also makes my eyelashes look incredibly
long!

ThanksItHasPockets · 01/12/2024 19:45

Tubing mascara isn’t affected by oil, only water 37°C or warmer. What is your application technique?

Imtoooldforallthis · 01/12/2024 19:45

Clinique lash power

Kevinbaconsrealwife · 01/12/2024 19:47

I use Avon “ Euphoric” , it’s discontinued at Avon but I buy on eBay now….. highly recommend x

AnnaDelvorkina · 01/12/2024 19:48

All mascara flakes for me, I get flakes underneath my eyes towards the other edges. So I just don’t wear it.

littleteapot86 · 01/12/2024 19:48

I use boots No7 stay perfect tubing mascara and don't get smudges. Every other mascara I've ever tried will smudge.

Also came to recommend this!

CMOTDibbler · 01/12/2024 19:50

Most mascara spreads for me, even waterproof ones. But the Boots Stay Perfect tubing mascara doesn't budge even if I'm super sweaty. I've just started using the KvD tubing mascara and that did well at a very hot gig this week.

Raera · 01/12/2024 19:52

I've used all the pricey ones I'm allergic to everything apparently! and a couple of years ago found this

Another vote for Boots No 7 tubing mascara. Amazing stuff.

Matildahoney · 01/12/2024 20:07

I hate the No7 one, it's awful for me, and not very lengthening and I have long lashes & oily lids!
Someone on here suggested the Elf tubing one, it's under £10, also KVD tubing one, both are great.

PeachPumpkin · 01/12/2024 20:58

Thank you all for the recommendations!
I think my mascara flakes as well as smudges. I just know that I end up with mascara on my face rather than my lashes. I never see anyone else with mascara smudges/flakes.

It’s funny how some people love a mascara and others hate it.

@ThanksItHasPockets Maybe it’s flakes that I get with tubing mascaras, rather than smudges. I haven’t worn mascara for ages, so can’t recall precisely. I think I apply it in a standard way - a swipe from root to tip on my top lashes. I don’t zig zag through.

I will check out each and every recommendation, thank you.

This one is excellent from Beauty Pie, I bulk buy it! It does not budge and holds the curl in your lashes if you curl them. Comes in black or brown. I've tried so many waterproof mascaras that just aren't, I was a big fan of Marathon mascara (green tube) but it was discontinued.

I always wore max factor 2000 calorie but it started smudging a few years ago. Have tried loads since and recently got sucked into one of the metal wand ones. It's amazing. Doesn't budge at all. amzn.eu/d/gHWJUYV

LadyGabriella · 01/12/2024 22:49

Bake your undereyes and this won’t happen

Or just try putting some powder where it typically smudges. This prevents smudging for me.
