I was gifted this waxed parka from my friend.
I looked it up online it’s from Sainsbury’s.
I do usually like khaki jackets but not that long, all mine are all much shorter.
Do you like it or it looks too aging or mumsy style?

I think it's quite nice, nothing special but good for winter.

itsgettingweird · 01/12/2024 17:16

I like it.

But then I like being warm 😂

I also have various longer style coats including a knee length waterproof from sainburies.

suki1964 · 01/12/2024 17:16

I would wear it cos I live in the country in a very wet and cold area of the county and less gap between bottom of coat and top of wellies is a plus

Would I wear it living in a city? Perhaps not

ihatethecold · 01/12/2024 17:17

I’d wear it out walking or doing day stuff

Viviennemary · 01/12/2024 17:17

It's ok. Nice on a taller person.,

henlake7 · 01/12/2024 20:50

Looks like a nice practical coat. I don't think you'd win any style prizes but for rainy weather it looks perfect.

abracadabra1980 · 01/12/2024 20:55

I love it! I'm quite short though - and if it wasn't for that I'd probably buy it - and also the fact I probably have more coats than I have knickers 🤣

Saltedcarameltiramisucheesecake · 01/12/2024 22:08

I like it, would be a great dog walking coat.

Garlicwest · 01/12/2024 22:33

The only style statement made by this type of coat is "serious about weather protection". They never go in or out of fashion, because that's not what they're for! Anyone from a four-year-old to a centenarian can wear a decent waxed coat, and they do.

I gave my Barbour away years ago. It's one of the few decisions I regret.

GodRestYouMerryGentlewench · 02/12/2024 06:18

I do usually like khaki jackets but not that long, all mine are all much shorter.

So the ‘gift’ is essentially a comment by your friend on the inappropriateness of your other costs for whatever activity you’ve been engaged in? Grin

RedRiverShore5 · 02/12/2024 06:24

It's a wet and cold weather coat, very practical and quite nice, if it's cold and wet, people in fashionable, non practical coats just look ridiculous for everyday wear

RedRiverShore5 · 02/12/2024 06:28

What is a mumsy style, is that just for mums, are you a mum, are you afraid someone might think you are a mum, please explain, a lot on here are mums, does that mean it is for them.
