I've got a pair of Adidas Spezials in my basket but they're not really the ones I wanted so I'm not pressing buy

I have a £250 back payment from work to spend (I have savings etc, this is just 'free' money)

I need some new foundation but that's boring!

I bought a plouise mystery box mainly lip stuff plus a primer.

I'm not unhappy with the box the one lipstick I tried was a lot brighter than I usually wear but I tried it on and I will wear it again.

I just received my order of nudesticks, what a waste of money, another cream blush that will not stay on my face .

CinnamonJellyBeans · 01/12/2024 15:21

I bought the Laura Geller baked foundation based on Mumsnet recommenfations, which had a big discount. Also three pots of Jones Road Miracle Balm, which I love, but could only find at 10% discount

muddyford · 01/12/2024 16:09

Lands End have 50% off so two flannel shirts, a corduroy jacket and a fleece jacket. Looking at Cashmere Centre next.

Bought myself a 90ml bottle of black opium in a gift set which includes a ysl lipstick and a 10ml handbag size spray of the perfume, down from £150ish to £90ish 🤩 so excited for it to come. Only just discovered the perfume and I love it!

suki1964 · 01/12/2024 16:34

I was recommended some nail wraps and at £1.99 a set I thought Id order a few sets for Christmas. Not a lot of money to lose if they arent as good as they say

henlake7 · 01/12/2024 21:03

I bought a new dress from Joanie's sale.
Also bought a new necklace. Silver with an acorn and oak leaf on to celebrate my weight loss.(It wasn't expensive and I really liked it).
Oh, and obviously I checked out Amazon and stocked up on moisturiser and BB cream at 50%off.

Hoppinggreen · 01/12/2024 21:07

I got a little Kate Spade bag £400 down to £150

potplantsinparadise · 01/12/2024 21:09

Little sample pack of perfumes from Sana Jardin; also a few nights in a fancy hotel (40% off!).

LilyJessie · 01/12/2024 21:10

I bought some Kurt Geiger Boots with a voucher code for 40% off 😁

Topbird29 · 01/12/2024 21:11

Bought a dress from white stuff- has 30% off which bought it down to my budget. Also stopped by the Estee Lauder bit in Boots last week and bought a gift set that included the night serum (cheaper than getting by itself). Whilst there I asked about foundation, and got colour matched, and came away with a bottle too! Also bought all of the hotel chocolat bits I want to try that am not guaranteed to get at christmas. May also have got some Winter scented bits in The White Company! Although, have completed my present shopping for others too.

I stuck to things I know I'll use

Litre size aveda shampoo and conditioner - it came with a free full size shampoo and full size hair treatment.

The largest container of eve lom cleanser.

My The Ordinary serums and glycolic acid.

A bunch of garnier moisture bomb face masks.

A kate sheridan handbag.

Bras!

i bought a leather bag from blondie mania, which was in the sale. i've been eyeing it up for months and was waiting for a decent reduction.

TiredCatLady · 01/12/2024 21:25

I’m very much a browse and plan kind of person so I had online baskets of stuff I’ve accumulated over about the last four months. It might seem a bit sad but i find the thing I need at the time then leave it sat in my basket until I either really, really need it or it gets discounted magically. I moved a few months ago and had chucked loads of battered clothes, ancient house stuff etc and been planning replacement buys. I had a pair of jeans in my basket for weeks waiting for Black Friday to roll around, same with a new bottle of foundation (I’ve been eeking out a sample for the last couple of outings - got the sample a month ago to check my colour match in the new shades knowing I was due a new bottle). Got the jeans at 50% off and the foundation at 30% off. Had a pair of boots for my DP also (30% off). Some sports/hobby equipment at 40% off, new crockery 40% off. Some other nice house bits like new bedding at about 30-40% off. Didn’t get the microwave or the new towels as not discounted so we’ll hang on until January. It’s all stuff I was intent on buying anyway just wasn’t immediately desperate for and have budgeted/saved for but having that extra off is a real sweetener. That’s the Xmas food shop and then some covered is how I tend to think about it.

TiredCatLady · 01/12/2024 21:31

And yes I definitely count the nice Egyptian cotton bedding as “for me” rather than “for us”. It’s deep amethyst purple. Likewise I have coveted the crockery for ages (and had the same rubbish chipped supermarket set for years) and now finally in own house am justifying buying something nice as I won’t be packing it up to move it for the 20th time in six months.

Are they Lily and Fox? I started using these last year when my nails were so bad I couldn't even untie my shoelaces or open cans of drink. They've really helped my nails regain strength and length and are really cute designs too!

lightinthebox · 01/12/2024 21:41

A Sara Miller Christmas cushion. Rest of the family have been told it’s very much mine as I love it.

tangobravo · 01/12/2024 22:31

The sequin bow jacket thing from M&S, 30% off!

Crushed23 · 01/12/2024 22:35

A massive tub of Kiehl's moisturiser. 30% off. I had run out so it was perfect timing.

I tend not to buy things in the sale for the sake of it.

Spudlover · 01/12/2024 22:36

A fake fur jacket from H&M. It’s lovely, warm and fun.

Yep

I was looking at the Halo but at £15 a pop could be a costly mistake

I usually wear sistaco and sistaco's press ons, but the press ons are a bugger to remove and Im back working in a kitchen - gels are frowned on and my nails are getting damaged being naked all the time
