uv cure nail wraps

I would like nice nails - my own do crack and split and my own painted ones never last long at all, even if they start out in good condition, I always break them. They are short.

I looked at the prices to have either Gel or BIAB at salons and it's ~£30 and apparently that lasts approximately 3 weeks. I couldn't really afford the upkeep going forward.

I believe there are wraps you put on your nails, file and then UV cure - are there any good?

Which makes are best please? Advice appreciated - I have never had my nails done, so unsure what types are recommended. Thanks in advance!

I tried some of the wraps and they absolutely wrecked my already awful nails :(

I’ve now bought some decent nail oil, base and top coat and gel effect polish from Nails inc and use that. It lasts a bit longer than normal polish and the oil does seem to have improved my nails.

Thank you, I'll look those up. My nails are wrecked and I don't want to make them worse. I've ordered some hair and nail vitamins, I do think I'm lacking overall.

I’ve used holy gel nails and moyou nails and never had a problem. In fact I’ve got them on right now - they’ve been easy to apply and I’ve never had any nail damage. In fact I was having more nail damage from doing gels myself

I do apply regular cuticle oil which made all the difference. And when I take them off I generally leave it a few days before reapplying (which holy gels recommend)

These are my short nails with holy nail
gel wraps on that I applied last night.

uv cure nail wraps

I love Holy Grail wraps. I don’t use the gel ones, just the normal ones that don’t need curing.

You are right, just stick them on and file them to length. (I think you cut the UV ones to over hang slightly then cure before filing.)

Apply a clear base coat first so the glue isn’t actually in contact with your nail, especially if yours are weak.

Do not peel them off (tempting as it is!) - I use their magic remover which dissolves the wrap before your very eyes! Oddly satisfying.

I find that the wraps helped my nails grow a bit longer as they protected them, kind of like an extra shield and a bit of added strength.

I find this as well. Because it’s that bit extra I like to wear them 2-3 weeks before I have a “fancy” thing or date when I want my nails looking nice as it helps keep them strong so they don’t break

Thanks everyone, really appreciate your input.

I ordered some non-cure wraps to see how I get on with them first. Thanks for the tip about putting a base coat on first to protect from the glue.

Will see how I get on when they arrive!
