Zara Kate Moss collection

What do people think? I was a massive KM fan back in the day and loved her TopShop collection.

I think there's a decent mix of wearable and out there pieces in the new collection. I've ordered the jumpsuit and velvet trousers to try. I really like the leopard jacket too but it's too pricey for me.

It's either very expensive or very generic. I love the leopard print leather jacket but £699?!

The Top Shop collection from back in the day was much better.

TBF I also think, as I am no longer a 25 year old waif, the collection isn't aimed at me.

Habbyhadno · 30/11/2024 08:24

I opened it up and immediately thought 'wow, Pat Butcher'. Love the black ankle boots but it's a 'no' from me.

Her Topshop collection was epic, I still wear the three star necklace and have a few of the dresses.

Good point about the 25 year old waif @Zampa!

I was thinking that she probably doesn't have the appeal for the youth that she has for people like me who grew up with her. But I have watched a couple of supermodel docs this year with my 15 year old and I think they do find them quite fascinating.

I still have one of the dresses from the Topshop collection but its been a long time since it fitted me!

I like the jackets and the wide leg trousers, the metallic thread ones particularly.

thedevilinablackdress · 30/11/2024 08:53

Surely it's not aimed at 25 year olds since Kate herself is 50?

Floisme · 30/11/2024 09:40

I'd have been interested in a Kate-Moss-at-50-daywear collection but I'm not looking for party clothes.

Also is it my laptop or is some of the lighting really poor? I can hardly see the black things.

ValentineBlack · 11/12/2024 08:46

interesting there’s been so little interest in this on here – unless I’ve missed another thread. there was all this hype. It was going to be an instant sellout but appears to have been nothing of the sortI ordered the white blazer. It’s come and I’m in two minds. I need a light-coloured blazer and the cut of this is quite cool but I can’t work out if it’s slightly too cheap fabric and if the ivory colour is flattering. Going to keep a few days but interested to know if anyone else else’s picked up any match from here

Hepherlous · 11/12/2024 09:02

I ordered quite a lot online (assuming that it would sell out quickly) but have only kept the black faux leather mac. The sizing was really small and quality poor - that's why I didn't keep the cream blazer.

MrsHaroldRobbins · 11/12/2024 09:22

Just looking at this now. I like most of it but sadly I'm not as slender as Kate! I've ordered the ivory blazer and the bias cut skirt. Not too sure about the colour of the skirt, would prefer black. Am in two minds about the leather effect mac. I think it's pricey for Zara's quality but the Kate label is obviously a factor!

Wordau · 11/12/2024 09:37

The model is skeletal. Does not look well. I wish they wouldn't use such thin models - exclusively at least.

It's all a bit meh for the price.

Stowickthevast · 11/12/2024 09:45

I ordered a few things and sent it all back.

The jumpsuit fitted but was quite boring and felt like polyester although it said it was viscose mix. Velvet trousers were tiny, and didn't realise they had a lace up front. Disappointing.

I think it was a blunder to focus so much on party wear. I mean, I'm quite pleased that there are threads about going-out clothes again - after the pandemic I did wonder if we'd ever be able to do it without getting told off - but I think she's overestimated how many parties most of us go to and how many outfits we need!

From what I remember, those Top Shop collections were far more varied - they were a good mix of daywear and going out clothes. This Zara one was never going to attract that same level of frenzy but, as I think I said upthread, I'd have been quite interested to see what kind of things Kate Moss likes to wear day to day, because I only see photos of her now when she's dressed for the red carpet. I still might not have bought anything but I'd have looked far more closely.

Chocolateteabag · 11/12/2024 14:02

I ordered the palazzo jumpsuit, "romantic" white shirt, black/gold jacquard shirty jackety thing and the "multi position"(?) bias cut dress
I'm 5ft 9in size 10/12

Returned all of them!

Jumpsuit - fabric was too cheap for the style so it didn't sit right? Long enough though

"Romantic" shirt - didn't bother trying on as the M was way too small (& I'm a 10 on top)
Primark x Rita Ora has better fabric!

Jacquard shirt was like cardboard but also thin and scratchy ugh so disappointed

Dress - M was the right size but the seams were puckered and the whole thing looked like I'd made it. For £150!! Seriously!

What an awful waste of time
