Do you choose to wear thermal underwear in winter?

OP posts:
GodRestYouMerryGentlewench · 28/11/2024 08:30

Why are you asking?

sunshinechaser · 28/11/2024 08:31

Only if I'm going to be outside for hours on a freezing cold day

ByHardyRubyEagle · 28/11/2024 08:32

Not under crackers no… I’m not 90, but warm base layers are good. Or layering in general.

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 28/11/2024 08:32

Not normally, but if I am working outside or off out hillwalking or similar I do.

GodRestYouMerryGentlewench · 28/11/2024 08:33
Hmm
mysadoldarse · 28/11/2024 08:34

I'll wear warm base layers if I'm cycling or spending a lot of time outside.

persisted · 28/11/2024 08:34

Sometimes. Can be bloody freezing where I work. A thermal top under a shirt helps that.
I’ve got nice ones though, if I was just wearing it no-one would look twice.

Purplecatshopaholic · 28/11/2024 10:45

Base layers. And just layering all the way. Thermals? No. Suppose I might if I yomped up a hill for fun… but I don’t.

Absolutely! I'm in M&S thermals (leggings and long sleeved top) from mid October to mid April. In addition to bra & pants, not instead of! Keeps my core toasty and heating bills down.

They do light, medium and maximum thermals. Usually I wear the medium, but I have the black polo neck in maximum for really cold weather, and it's surprisingly flattering! Have just bought this top and leggings in navy as well. Lifesaver.

Yes, I wear the M&S tops on a regular basis and have some heavy duty merino base layers for outdoor days.

i am in NE Scotland where it’s been below 0c all day today. I rarely wear the leggings but I have some warmer running leggings if needed.

Agree that it's a slightly odd question! I've been thinking about possible answers to 'Do you choose to wear thermal underwear in winter?':

  • No, perversely I choose to wear it in summer
  • No, I would never wear thermal underwear, but DH/DP/DC make me
  • No, it's thermal outerwear all the way for me
  • Is the Pope Catholic?

What are you getting at OP!

Cammyinred · 06/12/2024 16:41

I only wear underwear when I wear skirts and I definitely don’t wear those in the winter so nope
