What to wear to an outdoor concert in winter?

Please help as I'm clueless and have lived a life sheltered from concerts and festivals and big events! (Which I'm now trying to make up for lost time!)

Will I be freezing if I just wear a jacket rather than a coat? Or do all the people in one space warm you up?

Any general outfit ideas welcome as well as winter concert advice. I've no clue what outfit to wear and what coat or jacket.

Size 18, late 30s, and my outfit of choice usually is to be in my pyjamas at home. 🤣

In the UK? At night or during the day? How long is it?

Sitting down or dancing about?

If I have to sit outside in the cold I wear two of everything. Two trousers (well, long johns/leggings/pyjamas under proper trousers. Two vests, two cardigans and two coats (a fleecy and a proper coat).

I admit it can be hard work moving in all that, but I'm not cold.

Edit: and gloves, hat scarf!

What kind of venue?

You need layers.

Keeping your extremities warm helps a lot - thick socks, gloves, woolly hat.

It's outdoor arena concert, standing, maybe a bit of dancing but nothing too excitable!

When I go to a football match (in a stadium) in winter I wear thermal underwear, the kind for skiing, then a ‘skin’ top (like for warming up when running or playing outdoor sport), warm wool trousers, a cashmere jumper, another warm jumper on top, a neck tunnel and bobble hat, gloves, thick socks and winter boots, and my big coat.

For a concert I’d expect to be moving around a bit more, but outside for longer than 2 hours and probably some outdoor queuing beforehand which could be really cold.
