PSA for owners of the Babyliss Big Hair

My trusty model has not been working so smoothly lately. I thought a saw a few hairs trapped under the rotating brush, and had the idea that I should probably remove the top screw and remove the few hairs which might be in the way...

Well that was worthwhile! Enough to stuff a cushion as granny would say...

Oh dear god! This is hilarious, gross, and useful in equal measure 🤣

Fumnudge · 24/11/2024 20:00

Ooo, that is a lot. Thanks for the heads up

SirChenjins · 24/11/2024 20:01

Oooh I’m going to give this a go! 🤢

ImNotThereAmI · 24/11/2024 20:13

How do you remove the top?

Wickeswench · 24/11/2024 21:27

How do you remove the top?

At the top there is a small screw - was tight but DH managed to remove it with a Philips screwdriver.

I found the bristles splayed well before I'd been to use it enough for this!

shotgunshine · 24/11/2024 21:35

Omg, is it pulling your hair out, or do you think that's natural shreddage?

OliviaRodrighost · 24/11/2024 21:38

@Wickeswench ”Enough to stuff a cushion as granny would say...”

I’m a hairdresser and whenever someone’s had loads of hair cut off and it’s on the floor I always say this to my clients! I’m only 39, I think I need some new material 😂

worriedgal · 24/11/2024 21:40

Sweet lord 😱
I'm off with a screwdriver to take mine apart!

That's 5-10 years of build up! So natural shedding I assume. Although I am in peri now so that's probably accelerated.

Please report back ladies... I would feel a little less scuzzy if I'm not the only one!

I'm doing mine tomorrow

Keeping granny-isms alive and well - be proud! 🙂❤️

Mine was the same! Although DH only unscrewed it and discovered that after the whole thing started smoking and I threw it out into the garden before it blew up.
I've now bought a new one and I've been checking it every couple of months.

😮

Funnily enough, I had two of these previously which suddenly stopped going round... I think I've worked out why 😳

`I don't seem to have a top screw on my Big Brush.

SirChenjins · 25/11/2024 15:48

I’ve just checked and mine doesn’t have a screw either
