Fig perfume recommendations?

IntheSnowySnowyMountains · 24/11/2024 18:32

I'm looking for a fig perfume that lasts well. I have a tester of Diptyque Philosykos which I love, but am disappointed that it doesn't seem to last well on me. I have a small bottle of the Jo Malone Fig and Cassis from a while ago, which I also like, but it's not much better. Any suggestions welcome... it's currently my favourite smell!

(Apologies if I have missed existing threads - I feel I may have read one, or even posted on one, but I searched with no luck.)

It's my favourite scent too. I wear Mulberry Fig by Floris.

potplantsinparadise · 24/11/2024 18:39

'Debaser' by DS & Durga is a green fig with a coconut drydown, and it lasts.
'The Matcha' by le labo has a strong fig note.

Lidlfix · 24/11/2024 18:41

Thierry Mugler Womanity has strong notes of fig, a Zara one Balade de Figuier would also be worth a try.

Love a fig perfume, Bois Naufragé is one of my favourites.

ShortColdandGrey · 24/11/2024 18:50

Roger&Gallet Fleur de Figuier. It is my springtime perfume 🙂

millymoo1202 · 24/11/2024 19:31

My daughter had a lovely one from Marks and wasn’t expensive

Rina66 · 24/11/2024 19:48

I've got Philosykos in a black bottle which is the Eau de Parfum, it lasts longer than the EDT.

LordEmsworth · 24/11/2024 20:01

I love Le Labo The Matcha.

M&S Wild Fig is a tenner (EDT but for a tenner, spray it on every 10 mins...)

IntheSnowySnowyMountains · 24/11/2024 23:00

Thanks for all the replies and suggestions! How on earth do I choose???

I hadn't come across the Bloom site, but I love it and will probably order some samples from there. I think I am probably looking for a green/woody fig rather than a sweeter one. Bois Naufragé looks very promising too!

Will try to get a sample of Thé Matcha too... have tried a few Le Labo perfumes from Liberty advent calendars and they do last well (and I liked Thé Noir!).

@ShortColdandGrey I've tried the Roger and Gallet hand cream in that scent but not the perfume. I don't know why but to me fig feels autumnal!

@millymoo1202 @LordEmsworth I only see Warm Fig on the M&S site... is it that one? I can't get to a store sadly.

@Rina66 I thought about the Philosykos EDP but finding the price hard to justify (wish there was a smaller size!).

Vilhelm Parfumerie Purple Fig?

This one! I love it!

IntheSnowySnowyMountains · 25/11/2024 01:08

Purple Fig sounds amazing although some of the prices are getting a little scary now!

L’Artisan Parfumer Premier Figiuer. I love it.

Cantbelievethatimafoolagain · 25/11/2024 01:34

carthusia forget me not

BeaLola · 25/11/2024 02:48

Another vote for Ortigia Fica

Rina66 · 25/11/2024 08:12

Agree about the cost of perfume now, I was going to treat myself to Guidance by Amouage but it's £320 - I just don't know if I can justify that, but I suppose that's a whole other thread!

JaninaDuszejko · 25/11/2024 10:36

Bloom is fabulous, the yearly subscription is much better value than the individual sample sets and you learn a lot about perfume using it. You get a discount if you buy a full size bottle of one you've had a sample of but considering you end up wanting loads of perfumes I'm not sure it's that much of a bargain😁, think DH just bought me perfume requests for a couple of years after I did the subscription.

The Perfume Society does good sample boxes, and you tend to get more perfume than Bloom sends you.

Ah yes sorry, Warm Fig!

I also have Purple Fig but I prefer The Matcha - it's more subtle and creamy. Same price bracket I am afraid...

mumonthehill · 25/11/2024 12:50

Debaser by D S Duraga is amazing and really lasts. All their fragrances are complex and interesting.

IntheSnowySnowyMountains · 26/11/2024 01:27

I don't mind spending a bit, I just don't want to buy something expensive that I can't try first. Although of course the postage adds up if you end up buying samples from different places. Access to shops with testers is limited.

@JaninaDuszejko thanks for the info about the Bloom subscription and Perfume club boxes. I would love a Bloom subscription but I'm in France and the postage outside the U.K. is horrendous! However DH will be in the U.K. soon so I thought I'd take the opportunity to order some samples. Sadly the Fantastic Figs collection in the post by @BeetledBrow is out of stock and the other fig collection is £55, which again is a bit steep. So I might just pick a few individual ones (Bois Naufragé is already in my basket!).

@localnotail and @BeaLola - is the orange blossom in the Ortiga Fico very prominent? I like it but sometimes find it a bit overpowering. A few online places sell that here, and there's a 10ml size, so not too sad to miss the Liberty discount.

Will look up L'artisan perfumier and Debaser too. And will probably get DH to pick up the M&S one for good measure!

I’m puzzled - why are you looking for UK sources if you’re in France???

Anyway … There are three Santa Maria Novella stores in Paris (if you’re passing by) where you could try Lana, which is apparently fig leaf.

IntheSnowySnowyMountains · 26/11/2024 22:42

Thanks BeetledBrow - will add that one to the list! (Sorry for the confusion. I was just looking for perfume suggestions, not necessarily sources - although I was very happy to have your link to Bloom and will definitely order some samples.)

Acqua di parma - Fico di Amalfi is my favourite but a cheaper one I wear often and is Roger and Gallet - Fleur de figuier.
