Friend made unkind comments

I got new glasses which I loved and I’m not th best at doing make up. I wouldn’t say it’s terrible but not great either. Two friends had commented on my glasses saying they were too big and didn’t suit me and that I needed to fix my make up. I was really hurt by these comments but I brushed it off and said ‘well I liked the glasses so I bought them. That’s usually why you buy things is it not? They then said did the woman in the shop not tell you you didn’t suit them? I ignored them and continued wearing the glasses much to their dismay. I am confused as to why they just said these things out of nowhere?

Well if you love them then they can feck off. I would gently tell a friend only if they asked eg if they showed me two items I would steer my view (but never ever without asking)

I think some people just love to bring others down so they do, a true friend lifts you up

I keep my circle small these days

How horrible of them! If you like the glasses then enjoy wearing them - life is too short to spend time worrying about what other people think.

They don't sound like very nice friends.

I usually don’t give a stuff what people think tbh but coming from friends the comments did hurt but they in no way stopped me from wearing the glasses or wearing my make up. We aren’t all make up artists. I’ve never changed my appearance for anyone. I’ve got picked on and commented over my style and appearance before and literally never changed it for anyone. I mean if I wanted someone’s advice or opinion I just ask and other friends have said yay or nay before but not nasty spiteful comments

I don't think you have an issue with your style - I think you have an issue with your 'friends'. Their comments are appallingly rude.

You don’t need new glasses; you need better friends.
