Foundation help please

I’ve used the same foundation for years. It’s the L’oreal Infallible Matt cover.

Feel like I’m in a bit of a rut, it’s an easy win, order online, know my shade.

I’m mid fifties and skin although not dry can look a little dehydrated when wearing foundation. I’ve started using the Iconic blurring primer which does make a difference.

If I were to switch foundations what should I go for? I find the liquid foundations too runny, and they don’t tend to last well on the nose.

Don’t mind spending more if get the results.

I’d stay with the brand you know and pick the closest/same shade in a different finish.

Matt won’t be doing you any favours (I say that at 53 and from experience!). Try a slightly more glowy one, you don’t have to go full glitter-ball, even the Loreal True Match has a more natural almost-dewy finish than their matt foundations but isn’t Tin Man glowy.

Try applying liquid foundation with a flat top kabuki brush like this one. Total game changer.

If you have some money to throw at the problem, you might like to try the completely bespoke service from the lovely people at

https://www.cosmeticsalacarte.com/pages/bespoke-foundation-blending

They made their entire range so every part of the colour and texture can all get customised exactly to your requirements. And if like me, you don't know what you need just what you don't like, they can sort it all for you.

Famous in professional circles for their ability to produce and colour or shade under the sun, I've been going for years and find it so helpful to know they can provide whatever I want.

They don't advertise, it's all word of mouth, I like to think they don't have massive marketing budgets to keep us discontented with what we have already bought. They only need to make sure everything is just brilliant.

Thank you @EmotionalSupportBiscuit, I’ll have a look at the True Match.

Thanks @FinallyHere, unfortunately Chelsea is too far for me to go, even for what looks like the holy grail of foundations!

You could try a cream foundation then a gentle dusting of lose powder if you really can't go without powder.
