Help me help my elderly mum - boring socks question! 😊

My 86 year old mum likes to wear long socks to wear under trousers through winter but with her swollen arthritic ankles and painful legs she is finding all the ones she has too tight. She hates tights and stockings so I’m struggling to find anything a) she can easily put on herself and b) will stay comfy all day when on. If anyone can recommend any knee-length socks that are super-stretchy and comfortable I’d really appreciate hearing from you. 😊
