Please, wise and beautiful mumsnetters I need help with a foundation.

I’m 41, caucasian with fair but not pale, pinky skin tone. I’m looking for a light coverage, my skin is mostly clear with a slight tendency to dryness.

My foundation is old, I rarely wear makeup so it needs to be easy to apply and under £10.00

🙏

You got great skin OP, you don’t need much coverage at all, a tinted moisturiser or a BB cream could work too

nr 7 foundation is getting great reviews
l oreal true match as well

SpottyBumPony · 18/11/2024 19:14

Thanks, that L’Oréal one looks good

Was also going to suggest L'Oreal True Match.

IME it equals or outperforms a numebr of far more expensive foundations. Not long ago I gave up paying £££ for the posher names and will just stick to the L'Oreal one.

Great range of shades, too.

If you prefer to stick to your budget, I really like Maybelline Dream Radiant Liquid Foundation. It's lovely and smooth, moisturising and lightweight and doesn't seem to form creases in any lines. Easy to try it out in Superdrug.

OvaHere · 18/11/2024 21:49

This seems popular for mature skin. £8
Can also get it at Boots or Superdrug.
I do have some but haven't tried yet.

I'm obsessed with Elf right now. I threw all my makeup out recently and replaced it with Elf brand.

I really like a lot of Elf products. I have some expensive stuff too but at the lower price end of the market they can't be beaten really.

tealady · 18/11/2024 22:06

I use this Clinique CC cream and it meets all your needs except the price. It's light coverage, moisturising but not greasy and keeps any redness at bay. Although it is over budget a little goes a long way and it will last ages www.clinique.co.uk/product/11480/25255/makeup/face/multitaskers/moisture-surge-cc-cream-spf-30-hydrating-colour-corrector

I've never worn much makeup and it was just Boots brand. Some lipsticks were probably a decade old!

SwayingInTime · 18/11/2024 22:37

No7 hydraluminous tinted moisturiser honestly definitely

You have lovely skin

BearHuntAgain · 18/11/2024 15:11

This is on offer on Boots £10 Tuesday today.

ChannelFiveDrama · 19/11/2024 08:07

@tealady this was going to be my suggestion too. Mine has lasted a good few months and still going. It gives my skin a really nice glow and feels very moisturising.

Dontwearmysocks · 19/11/2024 08:08

You have great skin! If I had that skin so would be going v light coverage, tinted moisturiser maybe? I’m a Beauty Pie member and love theirs but you may not want to sign up just for that. Some good suggestions here re Elf and No 7

EmotionalSupportBiscuit · 19/11/2024 08:29

The L’Oreal True Match serum is the one.

SpottyBumPony · 21/11/2024 08:51

Thanks everybody for your suggestions. I went for the L’Oreal serum foundation. I picked up a blush stick as well and got the Boots ‘free’ gift bag with a new mascara and some other bits in it.

I’m Im really please, thank you

Looking good, OP!

LilacLilyBird · 21/11/2024 09:42

Yes that really suits you

You've have fantastic skin

But it's always nice to make the most of what we have with some make up

I love Boots No 7 Stay Perfect foundation

I just ran out of it completely (stupid bloody pot doesn't show that) and because it's reduced online only my colour was sold out

So I had to buy a shade darker online and my shade in a different foundation they have

Then my amazing DD went into Boots near her work and bought the last 2 in my colour in Stay perfect and therefore got a free shimmer set which she's kept because I don't do shimmer which she loves and looks great on her

Rainbow321 · 21/11/2024 15:52

Looking great .

EmotionalSupportBiscuit · 22/11/2024 09:42
