Boots with a good grip

As the title says really. I'm looking for boots/shoes with a decent anti slip sole. I've always been very wary of ice on pavements and roads but last year I had an accident and destroyed my knee, it really hurt and I never want that to happen again! Can anyone recommend some that will help me feel a bit more confident in the chilly months to come?

I have no advice to offer but am eager to find out if anyone else does- especially with snow forecast tonight.

When it's really icy - which is only for a couple of weeks a year where I live - I wear my snow boots. They have sort of crampons on the sole which flip out and give a brilliant grip. I got them from Snow and Rock. Will try to find a link to something similar.

These are mine. I love them .. they're cosy and comfy and with jeans tucked in they look quite nice. And very secure on slippy icy pavements. I bought them for ski holidays but end up wearing them at other times too.

Blundstone thermal.

I have some Yaktrax I take to work with me. They fit over most shoes.

I like those @highlandcoo the ankle boots look just my thing. I'm literally terrified of falling over and breaking something else!

Yes I’m thinking of ankle as well- easier on my commute by bus to go with work clothes until I get in!

Blundstone thermal.

Is the sole different from other Blundstones because mine have terrible grip when it's icy.

Had a look at those yaktrax on Amazon. Do they do the job well? I thought they'd be spikes not rings.

Yaktrax work too well! Meaning you have to find the most icy bits of pavement to walk on! Once there though you are rock solid.
....but if you have to walk on regular road they are terrible!

(very good to have tucked away if you wake up to a skating rink outside your house).

@SwedishEdith I think it's a chunkier sole to the others.
