Help with jean length

hi, can a petite person help with jean length, I'm 5ft2 inside leg 28, I just brought my first pair of wide leg jeans in short from m& s the front pocket jeans, they measure 29 inches so too short with a small 2 inch block heel boot, which I mostly wear all winter, but would be ok with flats in spring summer, if was to crop them to be able to wear with boots where do I crop to? my ankle bone or shorter? or should I order the standard length too long for me, and crop to wear full length so I can wear with my boots with a small heel. I feel a 30 inch would be the best length with my boots.

I've taken to cropping most of mine. About 1.5 inches above the ankle bone is the best length for me. I'm so fed up of paying for alterations that I bought a pair of drapers scissors.
I think shortening the regular length would work too. My wide leg jeans are actually M&S wide cropped ones & they fit perfectly.

Why are they too short with a 2 inch heel? Is it that you like jeans more like 0.5cm off the ground?

Would you be leaving a raw hem of you shorten or hem them? If raw then you can just go by trial and error. Take a couple of inches off and if that's not enough take a bit more off

Yes I feel the 29 inch is a bit short, as I think they look better just off the ground, I do have to crop most of my jeans, but they are skinnie slim the m&s lily's, I'm just unsure how a wide leg would look cropped, love the look on others, I have to take a look at the wide leg crop, what length are they? if you don't mind me asking .
