34E need a strapless bra/scaffolding

late 40s….would like to wear one of those nice satin camisole type vests but gravity is having its effects on the girls who are rapidly heading south. Hit me with you best recommendations of something I can wear under that will lift and hold. I’ve never really found a good strapless. 34E

I found the Curvy Kate Luxe good (32G)

SapphireOpal · 16/11/2024 07:32

Are you definitely wearing the right size, would be my first question. IME (previously worked as a bra fitter) often when strapless don't seem to work for people it's because they are wearing a band size that's too big.

fourelementary · 16/11/2024 07:32

This wonder bra … only one that has ever held up my 34GGs!! I think the cup size is a bit bigger so am sure I have a 34 G and is fine.

That just isn’t one. You won’t feel comfortable don’t waste your money.

Definitely this also! I thought they were all rubbish but was wearing a 34dd....instead of a 32g

Absolute bollocks - just because you've never found one that works for you (I refer you to my previous comment about whether you're wearing the wrong size) doesn't mean they don't exist.

Blimey, strong words for a Saturday morning

mortlurf · 16/11/2024 07:47

Elomi. I'm a HH and have just bought the moulded strapless and it's very supportive.

StarlightLady · 16/11/2024 08:23

36F here and never found a strapless bra that does the job.

WorriedRelative · 16/11/2024 08:29

Have you looked at the stick on ones? Might be better for a silky cami because often you can't get plunge front strapless bras in bigger sizes.

I had a wonderbra one that was brilliant when I was an E but that was the biggest it came in.

I echo other comments about going up a cup size and down a band size, even if your normal bras fit this can help with strapless ones.

WorriedRelative · 16/11/2024 08:31

This insta post shows a stick on one for larger boobs www.instagram.com/reel/DCJR9K9u2kH/?igsh=MTRqNHB3ejV6dWpodQ==

AnnaMagnani · 16/11/2024 08:36

You need a fitting. My experience is there will be one out there but you will likely be a different size in strapless anyway. Plus individual variation in boobage makes a lot more difference in strapless.

I was reaching the point of giving up after trying about 8 in Bravissimo when the last one was perfect.

StarlightLady · 16/11/2024 08:44

Surely a stick on bra might cover a nipple (not that l’m particularly bothered by a nipple outline, we all have nipples), but any support would be minimal at best?

Matildahoney · 16/11/2024 08:49

Another vote for the wonderbra ultimate, kept my 38g's up for my wedding day

Well really, what was the point of your post? Many women wear strapless bras comfortably and there have been several helpful suggestions from other people of ones OP could try that they find comfortable. You coming on and telling her not to bother looking for one because "you won't feel comfortable" as if that's fact (rather than just your own limited experience) is not very helpful is it?

Yep me too

minipie · 16/11/2024 09:09

I find this one from John Lewis fits well and works well, it’s similar to the wonderbra. I think you have to try a few and see what fits your shape.

DeliciousApples · 16/11/2024 10:04

I'm convinced I'd need some kind of corsetry (with the bra section at the top) round my trunk that would be kept in place and then the bra type top could push everything up in a natural shape (but not squash it the way a corset without a bra type top bit does)?

Does such a thing exist? I've never found anything that worked for me but I'd love to have something for the summer or indeed festive party season.

I'm a 42g. I can't afford to spend £30 on something that won't work so it's have to be a shop I could try it on. And be if a design I don't need a maid to help me in and out of 🤣

GoingRoundThatBlockAgain · 16/11/2024 10:07

Another vote for the Wonderbra Ultimate posted by @fourelementary - I’m 34E and it is hands down (up?!) the best strapless bra I’ve ever tried. Wore it all day and night for my wedding.

This one. I usually a 34H but have a 34 G one of these. Best strapless bra ever

GoingRoundThatBlockAgain · 16/11/2024 10:12

@DeliciousApples do you mean an overbust corset? And are you wanting the corset to control your waist more than be a bra?

Overbust corsets do push them up but you always risk a bit of over spill. I certainly wouldn’t wear it as a top/outerwear and I’m an E cup.

If you are looking for waist control, a steel boned waspie will do this. It’s a corset that just goes round the waist and sits under the bustline.

If you don’t need strong boning, try a ‘wear your own bra’ shaping slip. They do them in Marks so you can visit in real life. You just choose your normal dress size or they are pretty robust so you could go down a size for more control. Might need the maid’s help to pull it up then, though!

Gonnagetgoingreturnsagain · 16/11/2024 10:13

Freya Deco is good for this size. I’m sure the others are good too, I have a 28/30 measurement so need support there.

Thanks! It's not that I want to control my waist, it's that the weight of my boobs is too much and bras tend to not push up enough, they more flop or side after being overpowered by the weight!!

Don't know if the OP finds that too.

I would like a natural shape that stays up and haven't yet achieved that, although granted it's been some time as I don't have a partner to help me into anything!!

BalladOfBarry · 16/11/2024 10:40

I just wear a normal bra in the same colour as the top.

I think it looks good. Maybe style and beauty is the wrong place for me 😂.
