Is 29 too young to start with Botox and filler

As above. Please provide opinions

OP posts:

Yes of course it is.

gerispringer · 15/11/2024 06:01

Yes why would you?

friendconcern · 15/11/2024 06:01

I think the answers will be very personal opinions. For me, yes, it makes me sad to see young people doing this to their faces and I worry about the health (including mental health) implications. But a) I’m a lot older than that b) I don’t really like ‘the look’ of it anyway.

Birdwordie · 15/11/2024 06:02

Hey, I'm 28 so I can see the temptation. But I wouldn't, there's lots of videos online about how filler doesn't stay in one place and overtime doesn't give you the look you're originally going for it can age you unintentionally. Kylie Jenner is a good example of that. Try to embrace your natural features, treat yourself to beauty treatments instead. You are enough exactly as you are xx

Elderflower2016 · 15/11/2024 06:02

I think it’s really sad and scary that any man or woman would want to inject unknown chemicals into their fabulous face.

Edingril · 15/11/2024 06:02

280 is too young

This makes me so sad, you’re 28! You’ve not long since become an adult, focus on celebrating life not thinking about ageing.

I say that as there's a weird pressure surrounding you that "you're not good enough". I've got two children, I dint have social media other than lurking on here sometimes but you are surrounded by it so that's why I said I understand the temptation. You start picking at your features, it's a sad reality but I personally would never get it done. Was just reaffirming to OP that I can see why she's questioning this but she needn't to! X

DieStrassensindimmernass · 15/11/2024 06:15

I don't think Botox or fillers are a good idea at all, they're mostly unnecessary and give that 'suspended animation' look, but if you really have to do it then wait until you're at least 15 or 20 years older.

Reminds me of that quote ‘remember that your insecurities were created by a board room full of men’

Therapy would be cheaper and healthier.

To be fair I think women can be quite harsh at judging other women too, especially the ones who have always found it quite effortless to stay slim or who have good genetics regarding looks.

sunsmiles · 15/11/2024 06:22

At 29 you'll be showing the first subtle signs of aging, so if you want to prevent or correct, then yes 29 is fine

Is it right to inject and correct? Should you only take action after significant ageing? Is a whole other conversation.

sunsmiles · 15/11/2024 06:22

Botox - not filler!

faffadoodledo · 15/11/2024 06:24

Are all your contemporaries having injections OP? Is it herd/peer pressure? Why do you feel you must consider this at such a young age g age?
I look back at 29 yo me (the year I had my first child) and I honestly looked like a teen mother. I had no idea at the time. I barely glanced in the mirror; but that's what photos show. I wish you could appreciate your youth a little more.

sakura06 · 15/11/2024 06:25

Too young. You're at your peak now in my opinion! Once you start, you can't stop I believe.

I think other women drive insecurities for women at least as much as men do.

PeaceOutGirlScout · 15/11/2024 07:06

I just had my first round of Botox at 37. I have quite noticeable lines due to my disdain for people and constant fury. I'm due for my review next week where I assume she will top up the bits that haven't quite taken. The part that has taken now looks amazing and like I never had a wrinkle so I wouldn't worry about when you have it but prior to my sort of age it would be a waste. You'd be better with skin care like micro needling.

From my experience you're likely too early but I was close to leaving to too late. It depends on your face more than your age tho.

Stay away from filler. The videos I've seen recently, it's simply not worth it.

Bewareofthisonetoo · 15/11/2024 07:08

If you want to look 40 than 20-something.
It is so ageing -the chavvy ‘MILF’ look.

bakewellbride · 15/11/2024 07:09

Yes. I'm 35 and would never have any of that done not even for a thousand pounds.

Lentilweaver · 15/11/2024 07:09

In my opinion 59 is too young which I accept puts me in a minority, but you fid ask.

ThePoshUns · 15/11/2024 07:11

Nooo please don't, you'll be singing yourself up to a lifetime of it.
Invest in good skincare and use spf 50

PermanentTemporary · 15/11/2024 07:14

You will eventually age, whatever you do. Put the money into your pension instead.

Ginmonkeyagain · 15/11/2024 08:45

Growing old well is more than just a smooth face. Twenty nine is a good age to get decent habits ingrained - eat well, do exercises for flexibility and strength, quit smoking, drink plenty of water, get decent sleep, develop a good skin care regime.

Also keep yourself engaged and curious, be open to new things and experiences. All of these things are better than injecting stuff in your face to make it in to a smooth doll mask.

ChiffonShirt · 15/11/2024 08:50

Any age is too young.

My 19y said all this stuff is going to make it hard for her generation to age ‘normally’. She hates it.

One look at stuff like MAFS and Love Island should be enough to put young people off this stuff surely? It is ageing and not a good look.
