I wouldn't do filler but if you've got wrinkles then Botox can be really effective when done subtlety and by a highly trained therapist.

280 is too young

I think by that age you might need it.....

I would be more inclined to sort out ‘my disdain for other people and constant fury’ rather than getting Botox..

I think other women drive insecurities for women at least as much as men do.

I really don’t think women would be injecting their faces with botox if it wasn’t for mens obvious preference for much younger women.

NotMyCircus99 · 15/11/2024 09:21

Botox and filler has never, ever, looked good. On anyone. Ever. It’s obvious and ugly.

Wordau · 15/11/2024 09:24

Loads of nightmare stories about filler. I'd leave your face alone for as long as possible. Maybe do face yoga instead. No idea if it works but it probably feels nice at least.

You will eventually age, whatever you do. Put the money into your pension instead.

This is actually great advice

SoNiceToComeHomeTo · 15/11/2024 09:25

Far too young. You will regret it in years to come.

Singleandproud · 15/11/2024 09:32

My understanding if you start Botox the muscles in your face become underused and start wasting away / decreasing which then leaves your face without structural substance and then needs filler to fill the gaps and thus the cycle begins, it's not something I'd want to start at any age.

Personally, I'm quite looking forward to having a 'wisened crone' face, think of how much more interesting they are to look at, all those lines and history. I think getting old is an honour, plenty of people don't make it and it should be embraced.

DappledThings · 15/11/2024 09:34

Stupid idea at any age.

LoafofSellotape · 15/11/2024 09:35

You'll end up with wrinkly eyes and a smooth forehead, don't do it. 29 is your prime , don't get kidded into thinking you need work doing.

Growing old well is more than just a smooth face. Twenty nine is a good age to get decent habits ingrained - eat well, do exercises for flexibility and strength, quit smoking, drink plenty of water, get decent sleep, develop a good skin care regime.

Also keep yourself engaged and curious, be open to new things and experiences. All of these things are better than injecting stuff in your face to make it in to a smooth doll mask.

This x100!

Have you established good habits in all these other areas of your life?

If not, focus on that first.

This is such good advice. Money you put in your pension in your 20s really builds up due to compound interest.

Animatron · 15/11/2024 09:43

If you're over 40-45 it can sometimes make you look 35-40. But if you're under 35 it also makes you look 35.

standardduck · 15/11/2024 09:47

I would personally stay away from fillers regardless of your age.

Botox depends on your face rather than age, but 29 seems very young. I'd wait until til late 30s / early 40s personally.

In the meantime, I'd really focus on skincare and eating habits. Vitamin c, retinol, spf 50. Lots of water, good sleep & staying active.

Topee · 15/11/2024 09:48

You will age much more quickly with it than without.

Apolloneuro · 15/11/2024 09:51

Yes.

Onand · 15/11/2024 09:52

Of course it is.

give up smoking, vaping and alcohol. Eat a proper balanced diet. Get plenty of good quality sleep. Wear spf. Have a good skincare routine that includes double cleansing, glycolic toner and a good moisturiser. Get your brows threaded. Plenty of exercise.

All the above will enhance your natural beauty without the need for injecting things.

Onand · 15/11/2024 09:56

Forgot to add one of the most important - drink water. Lots of it. There’s a reason we put cut flowers in a vase of water and not just left in a dry pot.

Jollyjoy · 15/11/2024 10:00

I bet you are beautiful right now and you don’t even know it. You know the way you look back at pics 5/10yrs ago and think ‘I wasn’t as unattractive as I felt I was’ - that effect happens throughout your life. Honestly spend the money on something fun and joyful. You are more than what you look like. How many 28yr old men are asking this? Don’t buy into the pressure to look perfect - you are perfect as you are.

You’ve nailed it. 👏

PeaceOutGirlScout · 15/11/2024 10:08

OP, I think there are a lot of people on this thread posting without knowledge (or simply posting unwelcome opinions with no facts as backup) so take this with a pinch of salt.

Botox does not rot your muscle away from your face leaving you forever frozen. Botox is not new and there is minimal danger or risk from it. Done well, it does look good, isn't obvious and also prevents you from further wrinkles. You are likely too young to get any benefit from this.

Filler is a risk and can look awful when done badly or overdone. Avoid it to be safe. You don't need it.

Pyjamatimenow · 15/11/2024 10:08

I started with Botox at 30. I’m 40 now and have virtually no resting lines even when my Botox wears off.

Pyjamatimenow · 15/11/2024 10:10

I wouldn’t do filler though. It think it looks hard and mask like.gets worse over time as well

I have no lines sans Botox and I am 53. Just for balance.
