Long waterproof puffer jacket

My mum has kindly given me some cash to buy something indulgent. I've wanted a warm long waterproof puffer (puffa?) jacket for ages but am terrible at spending money - especially on coats that I worry you'll be stuck with for years so I overthink buying the right thing??

I'm 5'4" and a size 12 on top, 14 on the bottom. It needs to be properly waterproof with a hood, really snuggly warm and mid calf length. Ideally in navy I think?

Happy to spend up to £300 but very happy to spend less if I can find the right one...

I've got a lovely one from Superdry, it's like wearing a sleeping bag, and it's got really good pockets!

Got mine from Uniqlo

Is it properly waterproof? All I can see on the website it a lot of 'water repellant' which I'm not sure I trust...

You don’t see many actual puffer or quilted coats which are actually waterproof. I might be wrong but I’ve always thought that it’s due to all the stitching that puffers have, far too many stitched seams to be taped and made waterproof.

Lands End often do properly waterproof, puffy coats.

I love my Uniqlo one

Most puffers are not waterproof and get heavy when damp.

I love my long puffer coat from Arket. It was described as shower proof but keeps me dry during torrential rain
