Barcelona packing help! 20c to 10C

It’s this weekend and I just don’t know what to wear! Will I be too hot in jeans? I normally feel the cold. I was thinking jeans /trousers with trainers and a tee shirt but with a cardigan/jumper and jacket? I just don’t know though. I was thinking it will be too cool for a maxi skirt/long dress and bare legs.

Anyone been on a city break in these temperatures and can tell me what they took? Thanks. 🙏

I was in Lisbon last week with those sort of temperatures. I wore midi or long cotton dresses, mostly short sleeves, bare legs or ankle socks, cotton plimsolls or sandals. I had a boiled wool jacket in case it was cold. I didn't need it, even in the evening.

I never wear jeans, trousers or trainers.

Why on earth has my completely innocuous reply been hidden?

Just wear your normal clothes

LilacLilyBird · 14/11/2024 01:54

What you would be wearing now in the UK I mean

JMAngel1 · 14/11/2024 05:28

Sorry do you mean you’re going from 10 to 20 degrees or the temperature span in a day in Barcelona goes between 10 low and 20 high?
I would have thought layers - I would wear a cami, thin fine cardigan that can’t be seen under a blazer and a blazer and remove layers as it warms up.
I would wear jeans in 20 - that’s not too hot for jeans but definitely too cold for denim shorts! I would need minimum of 25 for that.
I would also consider dresses again that could be layered over with cardi/blazer.

Honestly, I get the struggle! 10°C to 20°C can be such a tricky range — one minute you're freezing, and the next, you're sweating. 😅 Jeans with layers sounds like a safe bet! I’d definitely say yes to the jumper and jacket combo, maybe even a scarf if you really feel the cold. And yeah, skirts or dresses might be a bit ambitious for bare legs… unless you like the ‘freezing while looking cute’ vibe 😂 Enjoy Barcelona!

It’s way hotter than where I am here! 20C in Barcelona. I’m in the north and it’s been 10C

Hi, sorry if I wasn’t clear. The temperature range in Barcelona is to be max 20C minimum 10C. So quite a range. 20C is likely t shirt weather but 10C is chilly especially if there’s no sun and a cool breeze!

Yes I think you’re right about blazer, warm layer, t shirt and jeans. I was doubting myself! A long dress with maybe leggings underneath could work too.

We went in February and that was the same kind of ranges. It was definitely jeans weather, short sleeve t-shirt, cardigan, lighter coat here (mine was like a teddy fleece bomber jacket, so warm but not long). Trainers, for lots of walking.

There was one day that we sat in a sheltered square for a drink, and we got down to the t-shirt in the sun, but that was for an hour at lunchtime. The rest of the time another layer was needed.

Some people were wearing puffa jackets, it definitely wasn't that weather for me.

Haha, thanks! I was feeling stupid after I read the first “wear your normal clothes” comment. I don’t want to get it wrong and spend all weekend boiling or freezing!

Fantastic!! I think I’ll go with that, thanks! Yes I can imagine the Spanish will be well wrapped up. It’s getting down to below freezing where I am in the UK so quite a difference!

Have a brilliant time. Barcelona is such a fun city.

NewZealandintherain · 14/11/2024 22:53

Thanks everyone! I’ve packed jeans (blue, grey and black for Saturday night), t shirts including a Sezane black silk one for evening, a cashmere cropped cardigan plus a sweatshirt. Also I found a reversible quilted jacket I forgot I had! Khaki on one side and floral on the other. And a scarf just in case. Sunglasses/sunscreen/jewellry and my Stan Smiths, black Converse high tops plus leopard flats for Saturday evening. I spent ages trying all the combinations on! I could do with better more autumnal/wintry trainers but I may buy some out there.

Sounds like some fab outfits! Have fun. If you're a Zara fan, the 2 on Las Ramblas were very good.
