Lip Blush - is this normal?

Had my lips done yesterday - it looks awful! They are still really swollen and the colour is nothing like I expected. I look like a sink plunger! I was expecting them to be a pale pink/nude colour but they’re a lot darker, and look huge. When I smile I look hideous and they look too big for my face. I’m going to have to wear a face mask to go out.

I had my brows and eye line done a couple of months ago by the same person and they are fine. Her own lips look lovely and I’ve seen photos of her work and all look good.

Am I just being a bit impatient as they were only done yesterday. Please tell me they won’t look like this for very long. At the moment I could just cry, they look hideous.

It’s totally normal to feel a bit shocked by how your lips look right after getting them done, especially with the swelling and color being different than what you expected. Lip procedures often cause quite a bit of swelling in the first couple of days, and it can take up to a week for the swelling to go down significantly. The color will also usually look darker at first, but it should soften and lighten to a more natural shade within a few days to a week.
You’re not alone—many people feel like their lips look too big initially, especially if they’re swollen. The look tends to improve day by day as things settle, so give it a little more time. In the meantime, try to keep your lips hydrated and avoid anything too hot, which could increase swelling. If the look doesn’t improve in the next week or two, don’t hesitate to reach out to your provider for a follow-up, but it’s likely you’ll start feeling much better about them soon.

Yes normal. Mine were same straight after, looked like I’d had loads of lip filler and the colour was really bright and I was really self conscious… settled down after a couple of days and lips went back to normal size and a subtle colour.

Can you post a picture?
They will naturally go down and the colour will be paler. Just takes some time.

Thank you so much, you’ve made me feel a lot better about them. At least now I know what I’d look like if I ever decided to go for fillers 😄 which definitely won’t be happening.

Sorry, don’t know how to post a photo. I’ll let you know in a couple of days how they’re looking. Hopefully will be a lot better.

Has she gone outside the natural lip line? It takes about a week to heal so after that you'll know what the colour looks like. The healing process with scab and peel off.

No she stayed with the natural lip line. The swelling has gone done a lot since yesterday and the colour has lightened, so I’m feeling a lot better about them today. They are a bit “tight” this morning as they’ve scabbed quite a lot during the night. She came me plenty of moisturising cream to use.
