Recommend a styling appliance?

My mother is in her late seventies and I want to get her a styling appliance and don’t want to spend a fortune. Perhaps Black Friday might be helpful.

What styling appliances do people recommend?

I gave someone an LED hairbrush for their birthday recently and they’ve really enjoyed using it. (I may get one for myself too.) Definitely doesn’t cost a fortune - I think the one I bought can be had for less than I paid:
