And I don't know what to wear!

DP and I have been together 2 1/2 years. He was married 23 years. I've met his friends lots of times but this is the first time to be invited to their house.....with his wife and kids

This particular friend and his wife have invited me and the friend has always been lovely but he's also friends with the ex wife - they've been on holiday as couples before. I've been out socialising with him but I've only ever met the wife once

I really want to make a good impression - what do I wear?????

Smart jeans and a nice top? Maybe long sleeve, floral but not big, bright print, something subtle in a colour that suits you.

Don't overthink it! Unless you have any reason to suspect it's a dressy affair, jeans and a nice top will be fine. I would go for a layering top in case their house is hot/cold. White conserve are fine, I wear white trainers all year round! I would skip on the pretty slippers, the wife might think you're bonkers!

What would you wear to go to dinner at a pub that serves good food? Wear that.
