Can I find a mid-price version of this wedding guest dress?

I’m going to a winter wedding at a country hotel. I have a couple of dresses I could wear, but I like the idea of something especially “wintery”.

I really like this - I’m a tall girl, so I think the style would suit me, plus I know the bridesmaids are in burgundy, so it would be very distinct from the bridal party (I usually avoid block colours at weddings in case of a potential clash!)

The only problem is the price - £345 😱 My top budget is more like £150. Finding a cheaper alternative isn’t a problem - but they’re too cheap, if that makes sense. I can find £30 and £40 versions in polyester from Boohoo and ASOS, but nothing that sits in the middle (decent fabric without maxing out the credit card!)

Any ideas, wise fashionistas of Mumsnet?

What is that dress made of? It doesn't say, which makes me almost certain it's the polyester you want to avoid. Even really expensive dresses seem to be mostly polyester now.

If you copy the name of the dress into Google lots of options about £150 come up.

A genuine question, but what is the alternative for a "dressy" dress?

I like cotton or viscose jersey for every day but when you dress up it's polyester or silk. And I think that dress would be a lot more than £360 in silk?

Look at the Kevan Jon website - all their garments are made of polyester. Just rent it.

It is 100% polyester, I found this out on a shop that sells it. TBH price is no longer any guide to quality.
