Miracle eye creams

I keep seeing "miracle" eyecreams advertised on social media where it is supposed to show bags and lines being erased within a few minutes. I'm sceptical of anything being advertised on social media but also wondering if there really are any eye creams that work miracles?!

I am mid 40s and look really tired all the time with eye bags and dark circles. People have even started asking me if I'm OK and saying I look tired! I have a big event coming up next week and wondering if there's any cream out there that will actually make a visible difference?

If someone suggests haemorrhoid cream( often recommended for years) do not follow this advice!

Have you tried a cold spoon from the fridge?

Why? What happens?

Have you tried a cold spoon from the fridge?

Yes it helps a bit but doesn't make that much difference to the puffiness and no difference to the dark circles.

Why? What happens?

The steroid in it thins the skin

Anyone have a recommendation for an eye cream?

Do you ever suffer with anaemia? My under eyes look darker when I’m iron deficient.

Other than that, more water and fruit and veg and exercise brightens my skin up in general more than anything else. All the boring stuff!

The other thing I do if I look tired is use a thick tacky colour corrector like the Charlotte Tilbury peach one, blend it under eyes, sometimes use a light reflector like a highlighter under that. Then a trick for dark circles is to mix a tiny bit of pink in - so you could use pink lipstick or something. Blend it together. Put under eye. The pink counteracts the dark eye skin. Then I use a little bit of setting powder with a hint of pink in it. Sounds like a lot but only takes a few minutes.

But they always look better when I’m just sleeping better and eating more fruit and veg!

I don’t have puffiness but I do have dark circles and always have. My skin there always looks dry and creased as soon as I put make up on it.

I have seen best results with medik8 crystal retinol for eyes, on a night. And then liberty liquid eye patch (it’s actually a cream not a patch) over the top about 20 mins later. Then a bit of the liberty one on a morning. But it’s not life changing differences.

For concealer I use the pink maybelline age rewind concealer in pink. I put a tiny bit on the darkest bits and it helps even them out, without having to put too much concealer on. As I have never found a concealer that I can use in a decent amount without it making my eyes look worse

You need a cream that helps your specific needs. What works for someone else may not work for you.

Do you eat a lot of dairy? I read a few articles that suggested cutting down could help dark circles. A retinol eye cream at night could help with any lines.

For an event try using some under eye patches while you are getting ready.

I’ve been using Avon power serums on my face for a few months now and loving them. I’ve just bought the eye version but not used yet as I’m still using up my L’Oreal one which I also love, it’s the Hyaluron expert eye cream.

If the Avon one is as good as the face serums I will be very happy.

Also saw a YouTube video for one by Peter Roth. I don’t have the bags anymore so haven’t bothered trying it but it has good reviews.

I have chronic health issues and for a long time just looked completely exhausted. I started being stricter with my skin care routine which made a huge difference. I also wash my eyes out every morning with eye wash and on very tired days use brightening eye drops.
