Help with nails

Been trying to look after and grow nails after years of being a nail biter/picker. This is the longest time - nearly a year that I've achieved this. However my nails are awful and I'm not sure why. Thay are thin and bendy. Very flat with indents in. I don't put gel or acrylic etc on, just occasionally a sheer barry m polish to cover my nails when I get really embarrassed by them. Any ideas what's causing this and how I can have strong beautiful nails?

I had great results from OPI nail envy. You can get clear or I think it comes in colours now.
Follow the instructions. Apply to clean, bare nails. 2 coats at first, 1 coat every other day, remove it after 7 days and repeat.

You've possibly damaged the nail beds from years of biting.

I use gel polish and sometimes need to take a break from it when my nails get a bit thin (my own fault as I'm terrible for picking it off). I used Sally Hansen nail strengthener. There's a few different ones but I've found they all work pretty much the same and my nails and thicker and stronger after a couple of weeks using it.

Have a look at The Salon Life on YouTube. I recommend her all the time but her advice has transformed my nails. One of the best things you can do is warm oil soaks and jojoba oil is the best for nails, though any oil will do.

After over 50 years of serious nail biting, I managed to stop, but my nails were bendy like yours. I take Biotin tablets - and my nails are much stronger now.

Biotin and/or collagen.
