Morning routine is taking so long!

I'm not sure if I can skip any steps or add products without waiting for each one to fully dry?

First thing I wash my face (with a facecloth) and then apply the following but wait for each to dry/sink in before adding the next:

  • L'Occitane Immortelle Essential Water
  • Vitamin C serum
  • Hydrating serum & eye cream
  • Moisturiser
  • SPF

And then I do my makeup!! It's taking ages and I'm getting fed up with it. Does everyone use all these products? Do you wait for each layer to sink in before adding the next? Or am I doing it all wrong?

I do all my expensive serums etc at night because I CBA in the morning.

Morning is cleanse and SPF with either la Roche posay tinted fluid if wearing make up, or if not, my ultrasun.

Goodness me! I'm very low maintenance I get up at 8:50 wee, splash face with water brush teeth dress log on for work. At night I log off shower, moisturise pyjamas dinner bed

Can't you just get a moisturiser/serum that has spf and vit c in it? Would save you a couple of steps

I’m 40 and keep it pretty simple too, I once read about a German lady who got to about 90 or so and she said she only ever used Nivea, her skin looked great, that was good enough for me! I do add a No7 serum to my night time routine. Otherwise face wash, Nivea day cream (with SPF), let it sink in (brush hair during this time), primer…make up.

You mix them all up @EveryDayisFriday ? That's interesting! I have in my mind that they should be applied in a certain order and allowed to sink in but maybe that's just something I've misinterpreted or recalled.

@MrSeptember the first product is a facial toner.

I do busy myself in between, but only because I'm waiting for the products to sink in iyswim, I'd prefer to just lob them all on and go! Maybe I should try it and see if there's any difference in how my makeup sits and how my skin looks after a month.

I could be doing it wrong but my thinking is that all creams are oil in water emollients, adding more oils and serums will just mix into it. They all mix on the skin, even if you layer and let it dry so I cut out the delays.
In the morning I add a serum and a few tanning drops to my day cream, in the evening I add a serum and facial oil to my night cream.
