Conditioner for menopausal hair?!

Toastandmarmite999 · 04/11/2024 23:05

My hair's become really frizzy since hitting 50 - apparently I need to start using a 'deep' conditioner (SLS free).

Can anyone recommend a product they've tried and are using?

Thsnks.

I like garnier papaya hair food for horribly dry frizzy peri menopausal hair. Plus frizz ease to leave in. I’ve also stopped using permanent colour and my hair has improved massively in the last three months.

Until a couple of years ago I only ever used expensive salon brands for shampoo and conditioner but as I got into perimenopause my hair got really dry and frizzy. What solved it for me, and I can’t think why I thought to try it, is cheap as chips (you can usually get for under £5 a tub in savers or similar) Garnier banana hair food. For shampoo I use the nourishing bar from gruum, having got a free sample somewhere. My hair’s never felt better! I also use either a serum (they seem much the same, I just use a cheap one or frizzease) or Garnier leave in conditioner, the coconut one.

I use the Garnier hair food as well, the coconut or the aloe vera one. It's really fantastic thick conditioner and contains no silicones also

I use a keratin treatment from Amazon ( purple packaging £28) my frizz was out of control. This has been revolutionary! I hardly need to blow dry my hair. The results last about 3 months.

This is a small business run by a single parent who makes all the products herself. All are curly girl friendly so no nasties.
I bought one of these packs and everything in it I have tried has been lovely (but my hair especially loves the grapefruit conditioner).
