Styling a choppy bob?! Please help!

Hi, I’ve had my fine, slightly wavy hair cut into a choppy bob. It looked great when I left the hairdressers but I am struggling with all the choppy bits. If I leave it to dry itself, it goes quite nice and wavy although it is a bit unpredictable. However, once I sleep on it, it goes a bit flat. Then I tried to use my straighteners and curl bits of it today and it was a complete disaster!

Any products that people would recommend? My hairdresser used Colourwow before blow drying it but I got quite a nice result just leaving it to dry itself but I think I need some product to give it a bit more oomph. Also, I can’t leave it to try itself before work every day as I don’t have the time.

Thanks!

Seasalt spray. You can make your own following an online recipe or buy some in the hair products aisle, but it's great for giving texture and forming beach waves.

Thanks I’ll try that

I use a styling dust for my growing out pixie, it probably works in a similar way to sea salt spray.

In also got sucked on insta in and bought some ludicrously expensive hair clips from Fiona F… something. They do a great job of giving me a “messy” half up do with my day two hair. I’m certain there are cheaper versions out there though.

@Chocolatecoatedkettlebell thanks, do you remember the name of the hair clip? That sounds interesting. Ready to be influenced too!

It’s Fiona Franchimon.
Dont judge me when you see how much they cost 😂
There is a cheaper version that pops up in my insta but I forget the name (and the marketing wasn’t a slick obviously)

@Chocolatecoatedkettlebell I've been eyeing up those hair clips and now I see they have ones specifically for fine hair. Do you recommend them?

You can buy those hair clips on amazon for a fraction of the price.
I have fine hair and have found that they constantly slip out

I wash mine at night, rough dry it with a towel and put it in two French braids.
I take it out in the morning and have wavy natural looking hair (ie not done with curling tongues).

I have fine hair although a reasonable amount of it and find they hold really securely all day on day two hair. Day one hair is too soft and clean to hold. I did look at Amazon ones but couldn’t see any with an identical shape.
