I am curious how you got the Soft Goat jumper? When I made an order I was going to get charged about £300 in duties and taxes, and had to get the delivery people to send it back.

toomanydicksonthedancefloor1 · 06/11/2024 11:50

I'm at work:-
Oasis dress £60
Firetrap leather jacket £300 (have owned for about 12 years and was a present)
Lace up black boots £150 (I have no idea on the brand as they were a present, more expensive than I would normally buy)
Primark 'Spanx' and black tights less than £10
Small red Mulberry handbag half price in a sale £400 (another present)

So basically if I've bought it myself it's from Primark or the high street, if it was a present from DH it's a bit posher ha ha

Horrace · 06/11/2024 11:58

Pants £8 M&S
Bra £38 Bravissimo
Cords £25 M&S

I got it last year, quite sure it was from a seller on Trouva as I had a discount code. I’ve had a quick look at the Soft Goat site and it says “For all UK orders we ship on DDP (Delivery Duty Paid) basis, which means that all relevant import taxes and duties will be included in the product price and order value. There will be no additional cost issued the customer when the package arrives at the destination” so I wonder if that’s changed recently? £300 in duties is obscene! Tbh, it’s a nice jumper, I’m not sure the quality of the cashmere is any better than M&S, but it’s a lovely fit.

That seems extreme! They say "For all UK orders, we ship on a DDP (Delivery Duty Paid) basis. This means that all relevant import taxes and duties are included in the product price and order value, ensuring no additional costs for the customer upon package arrival."

If you order from outside geographical Europe (USD) I think they leave duties to the receiver, though.

Edit: cross-post!

M&S thickest black tights - about a tenner.
Fatface wool jumper dress - £20 in the sale (from £65) 4 years ago. I still have the confirmation email, I knew I'd got a bargain but not exactly. I love it.
M&S bra and knickers - £25 I guess.
M&S heatgen turtle neck thermal top (or baselayer if you're being on trend!)

I get a lot of wear out of all of these.

Changeyourfuckingcar · 06/11/2024 13:02

Running around with my three year old today, swimming, then soft play, then food shopping 😅
Light wash straight leg (apparently, but they’re pretty roomy!) jeans - H&M Mama range - about £8 on Vinted
Black back-print The Offspring t-shirt - Boohoo Man, nice and baggy for the bump! - £10
Navy flip flops - Fatface - £20ish I think? Ages ago!
Lace bralet - New Look - £15ish, again, ages ago!
Underwear - from a multipack from Asda - maybe £2
I am definitely not including jewellery, we’d be here all day and it’s from all sorts of places all over the world 🤣

Today is an exercise, dog-walking, stay at home doing chores and language course work day (while listening to fall-out of US election), so I am in GAP leggings, tracksuit bottoms, (ancient), M&S underwear, Uniqlo heat-tech, ancient jumper. Original prices add up to around £350, but these items are old, and their value amortised over 7 years! Probably the most expensive item is a pair of Freight alpaca socks, which I think cost around £32.

I will probably change into something nicer for my class tonight - it's an online Zoom call, but there's something about getting into a different headspace via a wardrobe change!

Not relevant to the thread, but I love days like that. Active, productive, but on your terms.

Polyp0 · 06/11/2024 13:51

Ooooh! Will have another look at the Soft Goat website!

triggers34 · 06/11/2024 13:52

Today thrifted - vintage tartan long wool skirt -£1, mans wool jumper £5, vintage cashmere mix wool coat -£7
Not thrifted -black t-shirt £10, Nordic socks £7 , moshulu boots £50 ish, bra 40ish , pants M&S £3
Total £123

OllysArmyRidesAgain · 06/11/2024 14:02

Working from home today with online meetings so
Fluffy trainers - £75
Comfy bottoms - £50
Pants and vest - £25 max from M&S
Blouse and Cardigan that look smart - £100
£250

I would say this is a slightly low day for me as my bottoms are usually £50-£100, underwear £50 and tops usually around £70 plus a cardigan which can be up to £100, all my shoes are in the £75-£120 range.
I have loads of clothes most are years old but very good quality

If I add in a bag and coat it could be from my expensive Coach collection so upwards of £400 or my Uniqlo sling bag which is used most often now. Same with coats I have some excellent wool coats and jackets stored away because I usually throw on a padded jacket or gilet that come in under £75 each

Garlicpest · 06/11/2024 14:24

Back in a cotton corduroy Nobody's Child dress, £89. Matching Hush Puppies suede boots, £79 a few years ago. Soft cotton jacket, another steal from Everything5pounds at £15. Gold earrings £26, no bag, no tights or bra, paper pants (incontinence) £1.

£210 and I have to say I look rather nice 😁

Tobyjanet · 06/11/2024 15:23

its just occurred to me that I’ve no idea how much my outfit cost - jeans are recent wide leg ones from next - about £35 but both long sleeve Boden T-shirt and mint velvet polo neck were sale bargains and I have no idea how much - jumper about 3 year old though - do people routinely remember how much things cost ??

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 06/11/2024 15:29

Today I am wearing:

Brown leopard print jeans - Abercrombie £92
Wine alpaca cardi - Arket £89
Grey t-shirt - &OS £19
Brown and wine SL72 trainers - Adidas, £75ish I think

Out and about I had a Cos quilted bag - about £50 I think - and Whistles leather jacket. Necklaces from Monica Vinader and Boho Moon. Gold Whistles hoop earrings
