'Going out' / party clothes, not velvet?

I have a few drinks / gatherings coming up over the next couple of months and need some new outfits. I keep seeing lovely clothes in velvet but unfortunately I can't stand the feel of it!

I really love the cosy, festive vibes of velvet (especially the dresses and jumpsuits around just now) and I'm stumped on coming up with outfits in other fabrics and styles that look right for the season. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Next had a nice embroidered bead net midaxi/maxi skirt which was getting lots of love here at SAB.

Whilst briefly watching This Morning I noticed Alison Hammond was wearing a white blouse/shirt with feather trims under a denim either pinafore or dungarees, didn’t stick around to watch. Immediately put me off feather trims!

Not really but the shirt/blouse having the trim was unnecessary in my opinion.

Thanks all! Lots of things here I would never have looked at. I really like the Silk Fred jumper dress but I think it might be more of a jumper than a dress on me as I'm 5'10...
